Picture is worth 1000 words....
Very very unhappy with this purchase.... I know that shipping live plants is always risky, but this is NOT a plant. It definitely did not come to me alive. I am a happy owner of a wandering jew plant, that I have even successfully propogated. I purchased this to put in my office at work, but it looks like the only place it needs to go to is straight into the trash can.Delivery was faster than expected so that's the justification for the one star. It was also packed very nicely, so maybe 1.5 stars. When I opened the box, every leaf appeared torn and wilted. I assumed a little light would do it some goo. I was wrong. Added some fast draining soil and placed it in a well draining pot with just a tiny bit of water (the soil was soaked upon arrival). You know what, a picture is worth 1000 words, and I added 3 pictures, so yes. They speak for themselves.**most of the branches do not have actual roots yet. It appears that some of these branches may have just been cut off the mother plant and placed in soil. If I wanted that, I would've done more propogation with my other WJ.

Hope this is helpful
I personally love this plant. Durable and easy to grow. The plant is known to be able to thrive in medium lighting and is gorgeous to the eyes. The leaves are toned with hues of Galapagos and blues, with a slight sparkle or shimmer in the right lighting. The leaves being outlined by purple and red tones gives it an appeal in not matter the setting. I'd highly recommend purchasing one. However I purchased mine and it came with roots wrapped in plastic wrap. Mind you; all you really need is a root to a plant and this one was easy to get back up to par after it shiped. Other reviewers can say what they will. I give this purchase two thumbs up!! And I'd high recommend it for any plant enthusiast.

You never know what to expect from Hirt’s. Don’t waste your time and money
I’ve ordered about six or so times from Hirt’s and the quality is highly variable. I’ve received pots filled with compacted soil without any plant, the incorrect plant and a $100 order so badly packed it looked like a compost heap of dead and dying plants. The Wandering Jew plant I received had so many tangled dead leaves covering the top of the pot that I to pick through it very carefully to tease out any remaining healthy foliage. There wasn’t much. Experienced plant growers will avoid getting the foliage of WJ’s wet because it will rot. I finally cut the entire plant back so there were very few leaves. I used some of the trimmings that had enough healthy growth to grow cuttings, and filled the bare spots in. The plant stems are barely about six inches long, but they’re healthy now and growing. The customer service is just as unpredictable and unprofessional. He can be nice or extremely rude. I will no longer waste my time and money ordering from Hirt’s.

Highly recommend
The plant came so well packaged little dirt spill, but nothing crazy. The soil was very dry so a quick repotting and watering and it was good to go. Very full beautiful plant would highly recommend for anybody wanting it!

Beware! It's just clippings!
I'm only giving this a star rating for 2 reasons. #1- the clippings were bright and vibrant when they arrived #2- I still might be able to save some of them.I was so excited to get this plant because they're so pretty. What I received was a box of dirt that was spilling out. I made a dirt trail walking out of the post office. When I opened the box I had to fish the CLIPPINGS out of the dirt. The tiny little pot was cracked and completely empty. I was disappointed that it wasn't an established plant, but the clippings looked kind of ok so I still had hope. I used a 5" pot and premoistened the soil and tucked the clippings in. I placed the pot near a south window. By the next morning 2 of the clippings were completely shriveled and curled up. The rest were looking pretty limp and had darkened a little. I took them out and looked at them closer and realized they barely had any roots starting at all. The ones they did have were silk thin(or thinner) and less than half as long as a grain of rice. A couple had no roots at all. So I put them in a 4oz jelly jar of water instead. The next day I had to pluck some of the bottom leaves off because they were clearly dead. I'm only a few days in, and they don't look any worse than they did before. It has been gloomy rainy weather so they haven't gotten any sun yet, hoping it'll help when the weather gets better. Will update when they either come back to life or grow.

I love this plant
I love this plant! It showed up a little rough but honestly I expected worse with shipping a live plant to Alaska. It was squished and compressed from shipping but fluffed out with some TLC. To call it a "hanging planter" is a bit of a stretch as the container is one of those cheap disposable ones with a thin string of chicken wire. Worth the money though.Update: I'm quite happy with its growth over the past 2 months. I had to move it to a bigger pot and use heavier duty wire.Update 4/10/19: a year later this plant is now the largest plant I own. I wish this seller still shipped to alaska, I'd buy 4 more!

The plants were much larger and bushier than I expected
I'm never disappointed when I order from Hirt's.The plants came almost a week sooner than estimated and in great condition (for travelling across the country in a box). There was some minor (and I mean minor) damage; a few broken stems, a few detached leaves, a bit crumpled. But if you came up to me the next day and asked me to point at the damage on the plant I would be unable to find it.The plants were much larger and bushier than I expected. They look wonderful. In the attached photo you can see them compared to the size of my hand. The other photo shows a bunch of other plants. Everything there is from Hirt's Gardens (besides the ones in the wooden planters).
