Beautiful pen that writes great.
Never disappointed in Visconti pens. This pen has a deep red color which the photo doesn’t depict. It rites beautifully.

Interesting issues with this one...
I'll try to be brief but clear.I first received this model of pen as a second hand gift. It was in dreadful shape but it wrote pretty smoothly so I decided to get a new one. It arrive swiftly but there were some obvious design issues. For example, I ordered a medium nib and, though the nib was imprinted with an M, it was small and scratchy like a bad "Fine" point. I swapped my older medium and it wrote much more smoothly.Secondly, the barrel on the new pen WOULDN'T FIT with the converter inside! This is a big problem for a pen of this price. Again, I took the barrel from my old pen and it fit - AFTER I shaved the top of the converter down! WTF Visconti?! After looking very carefully I could see that the barrel of the new pen was just a hair shorter than the older one. Again, WTF Visconti?!I basically had to build this pen from older parts.I think Visconti is a great brand for making pricier pens and I own a H.S. Bronze oversize and a Limited Edition Typhoon Blue. Both are outstanding. I guess they just don't care much about their lower-end pens.

As an avid fountain pen collector this pen has rapidly become one of my all time favorites. Writes well and has a great look

Poor workmanship / functionality on every one I own
I love fountain pens and own a lot of them (70+) -- a point I share only because I have a decent frame of reference. Regarding the Rembrandt, it is perhaps the most disappointing pen I've every purchased. I hate to say that because it was one of my first pens -- purchased at a great pen store in Chicago -- and I've bought 3 Rembrandts total. The price pint isn't bad for the appearance of the pen, which I like. But on all 3 (purchased at different locations and at different times), the feed is among the worst of the pens I own (gets gunked up very easily, irrespective of the brand of ink and of recurring cleanings/flushings). And what's worse, on all 3 the interior of the cap seems to erode -- to the point where the cap won't go on / click in place over the end of the pen any longer. Again, it's occurred on all 3 -- a red one, a purple one, and then a red one I bought again to replace the [seemingly lemon] first one. When one goes 3 for 3, it stops becoming a suspected lemon and reflects a defect. I'd bought another Visconti pen some time ago (the Opera) and it had the same feed issues -- but the cap was a threaded twist on, so the same eroding problem wasn't experienced. Seems pretty poor workmanship.

That pen is amazing (I know the price point is very different)
I own an opera crystal from Visconti. That pen is amazing (I know the price point is very different), however this pen is pretty bad. The nib is not smooth at all, and while I know it's a steel nib, I didn't think it would be this bad. I own many steel nib pens, and I must say that I dislike this pen more than a lot of my cheaper 40-50 dollar fountain pens. Also I keep all my fountain pens in a case and have dropped some of my fountain pens in the past. Nothing has ever happened to them when they were in this case...but for this one, the resin cracked. Won't take off stars for that because that is my fault, but I have a lot of other resin pens that I've dropped and never had an issue with. My last gripe is that the converter for the pen gets loose all the time and sometimes when I think I ran out of ink, I open the barrel just to see that the converter is loose. I have a few Visconti products and have never had a negative experience before buying this pen. At it's 100+ price point I'd much rather get a pilot or some other japanese premium brand.
