I used this last week to build a gate and fence and I found it extremely useful. First, cutting two boards the same length out of 2x4x8s was a snap to mark. Just set the length and lock it, mark one side, flip to the other end and mark again. That is a small time saver, but multiply it by many boards and it adds up. I also liked knowing exactly where my pencil was all the time, and I found it easy to unlock the pencil grip, use it for something else, and put it back in very easily. I think PencilMan is a great idea and very useful.

Not as accurate as I was hoping for. Useful, but a little awkward in handling.

It is very balky i dont us it much becouse its realy big and dosnt realy feal good in ur hand at all and if u dont hoil it realy tite it will get a way from u and the tap rales over on u as soon as u take it out so u cant strech it very long at all befor two peaple have to holed it

Don't be fooled by the pictures there are no fractional marking on this tape just plain lines. There is a photo on the business card that shows a tape measure with the fractional marking on the tape. Mine even had a nice scratch on the tape starting at the three inch mark down to about the six inch mark. Not something you would expect from a brand new item right out the package. Not an acceptable way to conduct business. Misleading pictures and a scratched product.

The media could not be loaded.  I love having the right tool for the right job and this tape measure really hit the spot for me - speeds up measuring and cutting nicely and lets me do a quick radius too. Has a very solid feel and all of the mechanisms on it feel built to last. It's rare to find this kind of quality these days. I buy so many things and get angry because they're junk and you can't even find a good quality version because nobody makes one. Okay, I'm done ranting. This is one of the exceptions. Nice to have a great tape measure -- obviously made by someone who cares about the details!

Received this as a gift for my son. He was very pleased with the item. He had only one complaint the extension drops at 7 foot. The other company brand he is using at this moment drops at 15 ft. Might want to work on that part but he either way was very pleased.

Received the Pencilman in the mail today, and I am pleasantly surprised how weighty and well made this guy is.The attached pencil also seems very sturdy and functional.The best part is it allows me to draw curves/straight lines parallel to the edge like a whim! Awesome !

I use it everyday and the only problem i see so far is the clip that you use to roll out the tape can bend and give you a wrong measurementwell today it stopped workingthey did send me a new one i just don't use it to often
