Not as effective as regular ice. But at least there is no dilution of the good stuff.

This is an interesting way to chill your spirits of choice. It certainly puts having a drink "on the rocks" into perspective. These are great for any drinker, no matter what temperature you prefer to have your drink. If you like an ice cold drink, you can start off with liquor from the freezer and add the stones to keep it cold. If you like it just a little chilled, you can start off with a room temperature drink and add the stones to cool it down just a bit. You can add as many or as few stones as you would like to get the temperature just right. It makes it easier to store the bottle in a cabinet any time of year and still be able to get the temperature to your preference. I like mine just barely below room temperature, so I pour a drink from a bottle right out of the cabinet and add 2-3 stones. I let it sit for about a minute and give it a little swirl. That gets the cool liquid distributed evenly throughout the glass.The stones are not absorbent, so cleaning them is as easy as a quick dip in soapy water, rinsing and drying off with a towel. Then you can just put them back in the bag and pop them in the freezer until you are ready to use them again.I like them for myself, and they make a great conversations starter when guests arrive and are served drinks. I bought these stones to try out myself at home before buying more to use as gifts. I have always wanted to try these and I'm so glad I did. While I personally do not often drink straight whiskey, I do enjoy drinks such as Irish Cream and then the very occasional whiskey or bourbon. These work perfectly for anyone that wants to cool their drink without diluting the pure flavor.The look of these stones is so cool and I feel super fancy using them, so many people have ooohed and ahhhed over them. I really like the coloring, shape, and size of these particular stones.While the packaging says to use 3 stones, I find four perfect for my own personal preference. I put them in my freezer overnight before I used them the very first time. Popped them into my room temperature Irish Cream and away I went, enjoying my perfectly chilled drink of choice! When I was finished, I rinsed them off really well with hot tap water, then placed them back in the freezer to use the next time. I have not had any issues so far with the stones carrying a taste from my drink to the next (my husband tried them in his beer) but I made sure to soak them for a while and even agitate them a bit so as to get rid of any trace of my drink.These are a great gift to give my brothers and brothers in-law. The Whiskey stones are brilliant, I was tired of my Chivas getting watered down when I would put the ice in. Our friends came over and were also thrilled with them. Would highly recommended to all my family and friends.
