Readable and pretty faithful to more traditional bibles.
I read the bible for general cultural background. I have several other bibles, but this one is easy reading if you just want to get through the content, as opposed, say, to seeking out sources of Shakespeare or Faulkner (king james then). The changes they have made are clearly and reasonably explained in the preface. The more shocking content of the bible has not been removed (kill all the men and animals and keep the virgins for yourselves stuff), so that is straight forward. There are good cultural notes and some (to me) amusing apologias in the notes. If you want to know what the bible says but aren’t dedicated to king james language, this is a good choice.

I have been using this bible for 5 years now and love God just seems to be downloading information because of it, very easy for me to understand.I do have a testimony, you see back in 2011 I was reading out of my NIV bible Ginat Print and realize I would like to read the bible more so I prayed to God that I would like a bible to better understand him and is accurate to His word but read like novel, it was not but a few months later that I found the Voice bible and they only had New Testament bible at the time and I really liked how it was worded and what it had to offer.I have been reading ever since and I m in the 2nd year of the 3 year study plan and have already read this bible front to back and there are times I can feel the emotions within the text that just makes me want to keep reading. So I enjoy it very much.

The best version on the Bible I have found
To begin with, even though I know the creators of this will probably never read this... Thank you!! Your hard work and years of dedication really are evident! This is the absolute best version of the Bible out there! I have multiple versions and study guides Greek Hebrew and the list goes on. Reading this really made reading scripture enjoyable and comprehensive! It inspired me to read through the whole Bible, from cover to cover. Everyone asks me how long it took. Go ahead, guess... 1 year? Nope, just over 4 months. And that's while doing other morning and night devotions not included. Now don't get me wrong I am no deep Bible scholar or even a reader really. But I am devoted to understanding the Bible the best way I can. And this version made it so much easier! I understood the reason for all those names listed in the genealogies. Numbers and Leviticus? This helped me understand the meanings behind all those 'archaic laws'. It's also not a paraphrase like the message. It is verse by verse sculpted by poets, musicians, and real writers. It brings the poetry of the psalms to life explaining Hebrew poetry. Some flow through the Hebrew alphabet, verse by verse. And they have managed to do the same using the English language! I find that incredible! I highly recommend this for comprehension, for readability, and even for study! It was the best purchase I have ever made!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!
I had been to several Targets and a Christian Bookstore and none of them had the Voice translation Bible. My husband ordered it off of here and surprised me with it and I absolutely love it! I love the notes in there, I love that the text is not only black and white, and I love how this Bible reads! It makes it easy to understand and really reflects His heart for us.

Sweet and easy to read, warmed my heart
This is a picture of Matthew 11:25-30. I meditated on it all day and it was the sweetest translation and spoke straight to my heart. I’ve only had this Bible 4ish days. I’ve read the Bible in NIV. I wish I had this translation as a young person. It brings it to life and makes it more simple to apply and understand. It is beautiful in every way!

Refreshing Translation and format!
This is a very intriguing translation. I love it’s format and how it brings you into scripture as a player or silent observer. This may be troublesome to staunch traditionalists who may tend to keep God and all that pertains to Him in a tidy, organized box. But if you desire the windows of your heart to be opened and to receive the refreshing Wind of the Almighty’s Spirit, you will love this. I needed to work in this translation because I had a bit of a harness of traditionalism I needed to work with so as to not have my traditionalism be so stiff, chafing, and binding. It has become one of my top favorite Bibles. I don’t want to cause any red flags to fly in the heart of those who read this. There are no doctrinal reshapings or anything that inspires apostasy. It is all in the style of which Scripture is presented; the format, that some will need to get used to. It might be compared to this: if Bibles were always printed with black leather covers and gold gilt page edges for centuries, and red leather covers and less extravagant paperback Bibles suddenly came off the press, it would cut into the tradition of some and those “some people” would be taken aback and may become offended thinking these red leathered or paperback Bibles were inspired by the Devil! The silliness of such a thing is that such a change does not take away from the Word of God! The Voice Bible is no different in its format: it does not change or take away from the Word of God.

Beautiful
I have many bible translations and I wanted this for its poetry and that it divides speakers into columns, like a script. Its very inspirational.

Lovely Bible
This is a lovely Bible and my 2th as my other fell apart. It's bigger than my previous one. The last one has grammar mistakes but it seems to be corrected with this one. The leather is on the thin side but the cross n other parts are made of felt. It's got nice big print but is heavier so I use a laptop tray to read it.Occasionally it does stray from the true meaning so for serious studies its best used along side a good translation.Altough over all it keeps to the true meaning. The Voice brings a new refreshing reading of God's Word and it's a joy to read. This came super quick as I revieved it a day after I ordered it so a big thanks to the seller.

Somewhere between a traditional translation and "The Message"
This isn't a perfect translation (if such a thing exists!), but as a bible to use side by side with others it's a very welcome addition to my library. It's very readable and engaging, whilst actually being more appropriate for study than a paraphrase than The Message. There are some good "helps" for study, etc, and there are also some interesting insertions in the text (which are clearly marked as such) which reference other complementary passages, etc. The "screenplay" format for conversations also proves surprisingly helpful. There is an ease to following conversations rendered like this which is wonderful, and it is so simple one wonders why translators haven't been doing this for yonks.I also rather like that the translators have gone back to the original meanings instead of, for example, using "Christ" - they have instead used "the anointed one". These new translations are not all perfect (this one, for example, is rather clunky!), but in making the reader think about the actual meaning of words, such as this title given to Jesus, it is, to me, a welcome prod. Too often we use words like "Christ" without really thinking about what it means and what relevance it has to the rest of the bible.I personally wouldn't use this as my sole bible, but I've already found it useful and a blessing as an additional translation. I don't know if there can ever be a perfect translation, and I wouldn't claim this as being one. However, it has many good features, and I personally like it very much. It's also a clean, well rendered, well formatted Kindle version, and has the added benefit (a little like the Amplified Bible) of having a lot of information contained within the slender body of my Kindle. I have very much enjoyed using it.

A very refreshing presentation of God's Word
I like the Voice Bible, because it sets things out a bit like reading a play and surely sometimes people read it in church and other places in that way. It brings out the aspect of the Bible as a living experience and where there is real drama in the stories, it seeks to bring that out in the way it is presented.A particular aspect I like is its use of The Eternal, as a change from "God". This is similar to the term that French speakers use, l'Eternel, which I find has more movement and is more descriptive in a way. I dare say that this would please PC'ists, who don't like, what they see as the dominant male terms for "God", and its use, in their writings, would also stop them from simply "God'ing" their texts, (if you know what I mean), all over the place, which I find very tiresome and unimaginative. You may have a favourite version of the Bible, even one that your church tradition particularly approves of, but even if you do, you will probably find that this version brings a fresh look at the texts you are used to reading and hearing proclaimed.

American, but I can live with that!
This is an easy-reading Bible with various helpful features, such as in-text commentary and schemes for reading the Bible over three years or taking shorter periods of reading for specific purposes. Unlike most evangelical approaches, it incorporates the major periods of Advent/Christmas and Lent, so you get liturgically appropriate seasonal readings (unless you don't want them, when you simply ignore them). There are some irritating grammatical errors, such as the use of "lay" as an intransitive verb, but overall it's a helpful addition to one's Bible library. The Kindle edition is well-produced, containing the full text and click-on links. So, if you're doing one of the reading schemes, you click on where you've got to and it takes you straight to the Bible passage. I recommend pressing the Back key when you've read that portion, so you get back to the list ready for next time, or you'll have to find it again from the Table of Contents.

Voice Bible unique leather cover
What a lovely product this is. The Voice is a very contemporary translation using a play script type, double column presentation which seems designed for reading aloud or collaborative reading in a group with additional notes within the text to amplify meaning for modern readers and is therefore extremely accessible to all. its integrity is beyond reproach as the internet support (videos, downloads etc) reveal how radical the grouping of theologians, scholars, poets etc were all involved in the process of being as true to the original texts as possible but presenting those texts in a refreshing and ultimately more likely to be read/understood way. The covers are all individually cut, sewn, stamped, painted & oiled by artisans in Buenos Aires and the result feels as the most important book in the history of mankind should and the sensual experience both in looks and feel makes reading this Bible wonderful. Highly recommended.
