Greatest car chase movie in history
Anyone who is a fan of car chase movies, especially ones from the 70’s should already know about this beauty. It has the longest chase in movie history and the best,(it half the movie). Oh and the star of said chase Eleanor gets top billing,a movie first.H.B.Halicki wrote, starred, produced and financed this American classic. H.B.H made three other car chase movies, sadly dying while making the last (a stunt went tragically wrong). His legacy has left us with a group of movies (original & remake) that will make sure he’s with us forever, for fans today and tomorrow who can enjoy what he left us,fuel injected car chase action. This fantastic film gets a 10/10 A+ from me....oh one last thing.....no CGI.

If you like car chases
If you like car chases, this is one film you have got to see. Do not confuse it with the Nicholas Cage version which came much later and is not in the same league as the original. It is not a polished Hollywood production but the car chase that lasts for 40 yes FORTY minutes and was made without CGI and computers is a master piece of destruction on an industrial scale and Eleanor (the Ford Mustang) is the only car ever to be named as a star of the film in the titles. The extras on the film are worth watching in their own rite and features the follow up movies of Halicki, The Junkman, Deadline Auto Theft and Gone in 60 Seconds II.This is a must to your car chase collection and deserves to sit on your shelf beside Bullitt, Vanishing Point and the Fast and Furious films

Golden Age
The HD remaster is great, especially when paired with a good speaker system. Brings out the heavenly car sounds. The famous 40 minute chase has its high points and low points, but it's a fantastic showcase of the durability of golden age cars. The main character, the Mustang "Eleanor", survives the movie after the insane chase it goes through and still works decades later, as shown in a clip during credits, which is apparently from 2000!

No Nicolas Cage and All the Better for it
An amazing film, the acting is surprisingly good for such a budget film (although the editing/sound is a little rough around the edges). The 40 minute car chase is the best chase scene I think there’s ever been. If you’ve seen/ thinking about watching the remake then watch this one first (this one is better in every way). I watched this film because of the chase, but the other half of the film is also very good. This films Eleanor is also far superior to the remakes

All practical stunts
It is a film which is rememberd more for the cars and stunts rather than the acting which is justifiably understandable. It ironically plods along in the first two acts but the final 40 mins of the film is really when it shines, excellent sound on the dvd, a fun film would reccomend it for nostalgia and gas guzzling fun

Full Throttle Action
Remember watching this back in the 80's and fancied getting reacquainted. This is the full bore original with the spectacular well known car chase sequence at the end. Not to be confused with the appalling remake. If you like reliving the smash and crash movies of the period that concentrate on action rather than a story, then this will while away an evening pleasantly enough.

The greatest of the 70's car chase movies!
I saw this as a child at my local cinema and it stayed in my memories all my life as one of the greatest movies I saw as a child. This Blu- Ray is absolutely perfect,it's a proper hi def transfer and the extras are great.. The remake can not hold a touch to the original and is not fit to even lace it's boots. We will never see this type of film making again so buy and enjoy every second of the longest and greatest car chase of ALL time..
