I am using this product to install Brazilian teakwood 1x5.5 inch decking. The idea behind this is pretty solid, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. After installation of about 40 pieces, the bolt holes for the adjusting cams are elongating, which allows the knurled cams to cock sideways and slip on the beam. The knurling itself is too smooth, which results in the tendency of the clamp to slide along the beam instead of biting in and holding. I was able to improve performance to some degree by cutting a scrap of 3/8 plywood to use as a spacer in the gripping section, but it’s an added hassle I could do without. Finally, I would also like about 6 or 8 inches longer handle to give more leverage — today’s deck lumber is often pretty bowed and this tool takes excessive amounts of effort to perform its function.

Poor design (pieces kept popping off) and the part that clamped around the joists imploded after 20-30 uses. Don't buy.
