Creating jewelry, cross-stitch, even "diamond (rhinestone) 5 d paintings" (super fun, just a color by numbers hobby of gluing rhinestones on pre-printed canvas, but very small, detailed) requires the ability to zoom WAY in AND adequately LIGHT the area I'm working on. I've had the lamp for years, but a few years ago, the base just snapped in half. I had it semi-propped up with cardboard, but the lack of the stability of the "improv" base was very "touchy", I really couldn't position the lamp where I needed it. After years of searching hardware stores, even IKEA, i finally found this METAL version. Let me tell you, it's solid--and now for probably the first time ever, I'm able to adjust and LOCK in the light/magnifying lens in EXACTLY whatever position I need it to be in. Saved me $80 by not having to buy an entirely NEW lamp (likely with a plastic base??). Great deal.

Spectacular product: bought 2 to try, then 6 more to replace all the original clamps on 8 Alvin swing arm studio lamps I use in my painting studio. Original clamps used soft rubber base that warped over time until lamps bent over and two finally collapsed. This clamp uses hard plastic base, firmly holds lamp straight, and in addition includes thumbscrew to lock lamp leg solidly in place to eliminate wobbling: perfect upgrade for Alvin swing arm lamps, should be original equipment!

I purchased one of those swivel desk lamps that had a cheaply made bottom a while ago. Well, the way I have to have it on my desk is quite odd and the base inevitably broke in many places. I use this light everyday and rely on the base to allow me to move the lamp around without having to worry about it breaking or coming loose. After searching everywhere for a replacement I stumbled on this one. I am so incredibly happy with this piece! It is sturdy and doesn't come loose at all! There's a part you can tighten to hold the bottom of your light in tighter. I will definitely buy this base again, if nothing else just to have a backup! LOVE IT!

I got a desk lamp/magnifying glass as a gift many years ago. I've moved several times since then, and hardly ever used the thing. Well now I have a workbench, and I decided to dig the thing out and set it up. Wouldn't you know it, I couldn't find the clamp. I thought I was going to have to buy another one, but I thought I would look for replacement parts first. I found this, and ordered it. It worked perfectly! Now I have the desk lamp on my workbench and one less thing ended up in a landfill somewhere. This product worked exactly as I expected it too, and I am really pleased with it.

Good for the price, not perfect but I have had several clamps over the years and none were, this is as good as I know one can find:)

I’m not giving this item 5 stars across the board because it’s unbreakable or of such high quality that I got more than I expected, I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s exactly as advertised and it’s a perfect fit and replacement for my old light clap. The price is great, it was packaged and delivered without any problems and it’s actually superior to my original clamp. Highly recommend it for anyone who needs a replacement.

Some kind of error here. I ordered & received the replacement clamp/bracket for my folding desk lamp.It looks like the two items have been merged in the same folder. The clamp works fine, but it doesn't project constellations!

I broke the clamp for this swing arm lamp in the '80s. THE '80S! I tried five times to move and evade it, but somehow it keeps following me. I've tried to find a replacement clamp at every garage sale, every flea market, everywhere pieces of things are sold without their other pieces, hoping to appease the stalker lamp and help it find resolution in its ultimate purpose. But all I ever find is more lamps without clamps. It has been in my current basement since 1997. Then suddenly, we need a basking lamp for a lizard cage because the one I have is melting the tank lid. So I check on Amazon -- BINGO on the clamp at the aptly named Hope Hill Products. I order it Thursday night, get it Saturday morning and find two different clamps in the box. The first one is too small, but the next one is just right -- just perfect. 10 minutes into receiving my package, the lamp is set up for the first time in almost 30 years and serving it's ultimate purpose -- providing nutritional light to a captive creature, removing a fire hazard from our home, and providing an opening in my basement to store the next something seeking it's other pieces.
