Worked like a Charm!
YES. Our toddler suddenly decided she did not want to go to bed anymore. Slowly we figured out it was because she was a little afraid of the dark and maybe just needed something to play with until she drifted off on her own. We like that this doesn't play music!! It only speaks short phrases, which is great because it wont wake her at night. We will be purchasing more for xmas gifts and possibly buy more lights for us to light the way to the restroom at night. This is so cool, I cant believe there isn't more options like this!!

Great Great Product
Helped my 4 year old tremendously with her fear of the dark and zombies and skeletons and everything else her developing imagination conjures.I think the star light up is the portion of this product that mostly helped by giving her control of being able to light the room up whenever she felt scared. We have a nightlight in the room but that just didn't do it.The little dog also says reassuring phrases.Highly recommend.

I'm highly disappointed. Now I need to run out and find ...
I bought this as a Christmas present. Before I wrapped it I decided to check to see if it worked. I had to replace all the batteries. The little screws on the battery holder was stripped. I had to get pliers to get the screws out. When I replaced the batteries the plush worked but the star night light did not. I'm highly disappointed. Now I need to run out and find a replacement toy.

Good Quality & Cute Idea
I bought this for my two year-old in hopes that it would help her not be scared of the dark. "Pink Dog" arrived with dead batteries, but was otherwise very good quality for $10. The concept works well, but it didn't help my kiddo at all. Might be better for an older child?

Cute but the nightlight doesn't work
I bought this for a child who is afraid of the dark. It did not speak or have the nightlight light up when I received it; I had to replace all batteries (dog + nightlight). With fresh batteries, the nightlight lights up maybe 1 out of 15 times, which is really not helpful for a child afraid of the dark looking for comfort. I'm very disappointed.

Old batteries ruined the toy.
Old batteries were inside the toy. They had leaked and dried. We tried cleaning and replacing the batteries, didn't work. The toy never turned on. My daughter seems to like it some anyway, although I am disappointed.
