The egg is designed to open in the middle by unscrewing, so you can insert a small trinket, message or gift inside. The bezels of the egg are gold plated in 24ct gold. Each egg is individually gift boxed, and comes with a certificate. Only limited quantities of these eggs are available. This particular egg is decorated in the Chinese style, hence its name "Chinoiserie" This style of decoration was very popular in the late 19th century.
