Kitchen Cabinet Door Hinge - Gas Strut Lid Stay Support, Soft Close, 150N/33lb/15KG [2 Pack]

These are strong struts. They bent the hings on the box I installed them on. I had to install additional hinges. Also the install instructions are not very clear. I used the measurements they provided and the lid did not open the 90 degrees it said it would, more like 45 degrees. But I got them installed and they work good. Just tug up on the lid and it opens fully.

I have a toybox at my place for my grandson. It was handmade by a wonderful man for his grandkids and now I have it, which I know he would be happy about.Anyhow, this is a very heavy wooden toybox. It only had simple hinges holding the top on and one small handle to lift the top. I needed a way to make it so my little guy didn't drop the heavy lid on his hands when trying to get things out. So I replaced the hinges with heavy duty ones and thought of how I love my slow close cabinets. I found these and ordered them right away.Now installing was a challenge for me. Trying to figure out placement so that it would work right took a couple tries, but I figured it out. I am a single woman who learns this stuff on her own. But now the toybox closes smoothly and my grandson is so happy he can start using it to keep his room clean at grandma's house.So reasons for stars on review:Instructions- I would not call them instructions. You need to look online to see how they work and stuff, but still won't get instructions. It took a bit for me to figure out how to get the bracket off the strut because nowhere does it tell you to use a flat head and pry the little metal part until it pops out.Ease of installation- With no instructions, I was unsure where or how to place them. After one failed mounting attempt, I figured it out but still struggled.Value- these were perfect once I got past the other stuff. Again, very heavy lid and these hold it open and make it easy to shut. One would not be enough to hold the lid up, so I'm very glad it comes as a two pack.

Struts prove to have plenty of power to open this heavy chest lid. Only concern is: the oval bracket bent out of square under its own stress. Other then that, I’d buy these again.

I bought a few of these a few months ago to start replacing the devices that came in my camper van. They were hard to adjust and weren't doing the job. After replacing the first set and giving them a try for the past several months, I knew these would indeed do the trick. So I ordered enough to finish the job. Very good value.

The brackets are made poorly and bend easily. Instructions for installation have incorrect measurements. i installed them per the illustration which will not allow the actuator to fully compress. I would not recommend these. I would return them but I am past my 30 grace period.

I looked on amazon at these struts and they looked like they close very easy but that is not the case when you actually try to close them. They are very stiff and I will be sending them back for sure. I wanted to put them on a toy box so kids wouldn't get their fingers pinched but these clearly won't work. There was no way to lessen the pressure on them and no instructions.

Cheap materials and construction, but works just fine for my boat hatch!We’ll see how long they last, but the price was right.
