Excellent lens to use with a Leica camera
Excellent lens to use with a Leica camera! I like the finish, contrast and overall performance... even if my absolute 35mm lens is the 35mm f1.4 Nokton, by Cosina-Voigtländer. This one is now attached to my Leica M4-2, and they're a combination made in heaven in terms of handling and ergonomics. I have yet to develop the film, but, since I have another Zeiss lens (identical to this, but in silver), I know that the results will be quite satisfactory.

Fast normal lens
I use this on both my Leica and my NEX 7. It has become my everyday lens on the "7" having a FL of about 55mm on an APS-C camera. It is so sharp that I believe it out-resolves the very large sensor on the "7". At about $1000 it is a perfect tool at a great price. The only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars is the annoyingly clumsy lens cap.

Excellent build quality as well as optically brilliant
Excellent build quality as well as optically brilliant. I use this for film work with my Leica M7. Love it and don't regret not buying a 35mm Leica equivalent at 3-5 times the price. I have a 50mm Leica summilux which I love but I just don't see the Leica 35s being worth the money when you have an excellent choice here for much less.

Perfect purchase
This 35 mm lens which I am using on my Leica M9 camera has already thrilled me with the clarity of detail and color in some landscape shots that I recently took. Excellent quality in this lens. I think anyone would enjoy its performance.

No hood despite images on site.
Although I am happy with this lens on my Leica m 246, I am a bit perturbed with Amazon. The original images of the lens showed an included lens hood. I specifically asked if the hood was included with the purchase of the lens prior to placing my order (presumably as a premium). When I received the lens, there was no hood. Interestingly and disturbingly, they have now changed the images of the product on the site. I find this to be false advertising. I understand that the hood does not usually come with Zeiss m-mount lenses, but in this case, it was advertised as such. I am disappointed to say the least.

and have used this lens on travels through Europe and the United States and have wonderful photographs. Easy
I purchased this lens news from Amazon, and have used this lens on travels through Europe and the United States and have wonderful photographs. Easy, clean focusing; it is the lens I use on my Leica. Solidly built, f-stop ring clicks nicely. Zone focusing and hyper focusing are sharp and accurate. I am extremely pleased with this lens.
