Great knife for the money
My first impression of this knife what that it was flimsy and wouldn't hold up. HOWEVER, after using this knife on my surf-fishing trip, I am thoroughly pleased with this knife and could not ask for a better knife for what I used it for and for what it costs. At $7 this was the PERFECT bait and filet knife to carry on my OBX surf fishing trip. While I bought it as a throw-away knife that I don't care about getting rusted or lost, I found myself carefully sharpening, cleaning, and oiling this knife when I got back. It performed beautifully cutting bait, fileting fish, cutting line/leaders and anything else I asked. And it's foldable which means I can put it in my pocket without fear of poking or cutting myself. I would highly recommend this knife to any fisherman.ORIGINAL REVIEW BEFORE USE-- It's hard to complain much about a $7 filet knife, I knew I wasn't buying a super quality knife. BUT, this knife just isn't going to cut it (pardon my pun). My main complaint with the knife is that the metal backbone of the handle only extends about half-way down the handle, leaving the bottom half of the plastic handle VERY flimsy. The plastic of the handle is already thin but it has sufficient strength where the metal locking mechanism supports it. The bottom half feels like it's going to collapse and makes the knife feel very dangerous, especially under any pressure. I would not recommend.

Cheap throwaway filet knife. Good enough.
Knife is great for the price. It is made of hard plastic and feels really cheap, kind of like a dollar store knife if you've ever seen one. Out of the box the edge was.... hardly serviceable, which is why I docked a star. Seriously the edge it came with was terrible. But it sharpened right up with a few passes on a stone and strop and it fillets fine enough. I like that it folds.Only con other than it feeling cheap and coming with a bad edge is it dulls pretty quickly, but I kind of expected that. That's okay to me. Overall a good deal but if it was over 8 dollars? I'd use the walmart fillet knife

Excellent for the price.
Not quite as nice as my fixed blade nicer fillet knives, but perfect for throwing in a fishing bag just in case. I've used it a decent amount and the steel is definitely standard 400 series (very rust proof, easy to sharpen, but dulls after a few uses). I couldn't be happier for the price.

Cheap and flimsy
You get what you pay for this is a cheap and flimsy knife but it will work in a pinch. Not sure how well it will hold an edge but I assume dolls fairly quickly. If you often lose your knives or just need a budget fillet knife for a single boat trip this will work nicely though.

It is a good fillet knife. Good flexibility
Nice little fillet knife it does what it's supposed to do it has a little flex to the blade like I should as a fillet knife absolutely nothing wrong with this knife that I can see other than the fact that it says China stainless it's a cheap knife it's a great little cheap knife. It took a nice sharp edge

Does the job.
Usable blade on these is 5". Overall length is 12 3/4". Compared to the Elk Ridge model, Rite Edge has a thinner blade but I don't know as the steel is any better. Both are from China. The best folding fillet knife I have is a Kershaw with 6 1/4" usable but it's 7 1/2" folded and 13 3/4" overall. The blade lock/release is extremely stiff; it works ok and might break in over time and become more user friendly. This is a very cheaply made knife but at its price point you won't find a better deal that gets the job done in a pinch. A welcome addition to any tackle box.

Lightweight and sharp
This knife is light and folds up nicely. It does appear to be a little bit flimsy. Moreover it does appear to be strong enough for the intended use of filleting fish. It would not be appropriate to use for cutting wood, bone, and so on. The blade seems to be very good flexible (stainless) steel and it takes a sharp edge.
