1/1/21 - NAYAHOSE Natural Teak Wood Kitchen Utensils SetI went a little crazy Black Friday and purchased 3 wooden utensil sets. The other 2 sets were made from Bamboo, so perhaps that accounts for the drastic difference in quality. This set by Nayahose was the absolute best by far. I received this set very quickly, before the other two. The color was so dark, I was sure it had been stained. I read about finishes & stains and in the U.S. toxic chemicals aren't used, so they are supposed to be safe on wood used for food contact. However, in the current state of "Globalization," who's to say where the finishing products came from. So, I started sanding. To my surprise, the finish was NATURAL! There was no stain and no clear coat finish (varnish, etc.)! The sheen was the natural glow of the wood and it was beautiful. Since I had already started sanding, I went through the process of different grits of sand paper, finishing with 1000 grit. This gave the utensils a little more of a silky smooth feel. I oiled them and waxed them and they are absolutely beautiful.I would also like to note that of the three sets, these were, by far, the best in quality. The other utensils had mars in the wood--some what deep veining and rough textures around knots in the wood. These did not. The veining was straight and event and very well finished even before I started sanding.Wooden utensils are far superior to plastic, silicone. I found this set in teak to be much better than the two I purchased in bamboo.I would definitely consider the Nayahose brand, first, if & when I need wooden utensils or want to purchase them as a gift.

Was looking for a spoon that was longer than an average spoon, could hold more and hopefully wouldn’t fall back into my deep bowls or pots when taking breaks from eating. I looked into some plastic options but feared they wouldn’t do well in boiled liquids, and didn’t want metal because when it’s been sitting in hot liquid for a while, you can burn yourself when your mouth touches the metal spoon. I also looked into some ceramic options but they didn’t seem like they could hook onto the bowl, and they might break if I dropped them. So this wooden spoon set works great! I’ve only needed the smallest one so far for my dumpling soups, noodle soups and so forth. Maybe I’ll use the bigger ones for cooking or hotpot. The wood is nice and I’m a sucker for wooden bowls and utensils so this fits well into that aesthetic. Overall very happy with the purchase, even if it cost a bit more. Should last if I take good care of it and hand wash it.

1/12/25 update. My spatula cracked already in the middle. That's upsetting. I only hand wash them and don't leave soaking in water. I don't have a dishwasher so they definitely air dry and i didn't leave it in the pan, as you shouldn't do that with any utensils so i don't know why it cracked. I just got these a few weeks ago. I'll be contacting the seller to see about an exchange. I love them and this is disappointing.These work great! They are durable and the variety has met my cooking needs thus far! I highly recommend.

These utensils look great displayed on my counter. They feel good in my hand when cooking, and they wash up nicely. I've threatened everyone in the house with death if they put them to n the dishwasher, so we'll see how long they stay good looking.

These are nice little wooden utensils. Emphasis on little. They're much smaller than I was expecting, particularly the ladle. But aside from that, they're very nicely made and attractive, they do the job, and they clean up easily, so that's a relatively minor complaint.

These don’t feel cheap. If you are switching from plastic to wood, definitely consider these!!
