Malfunctioned the second time I used it.
I was in love with this product the first year I used it. I ordered it and used it last year for the first time. I am a classroom teacher. All three eggs hatched and we had three beautiful chicks to enjoy. I stored it in a safe dry space and pulled it out this year to use it again. It malfunctioned after 2 days and the fan and heat stopped working. I had to scramble and borrow an incubator, but I am not sure all the eggs will be viable, because I am not sure when it decided to stop functioning properly. I wouldn't order it again, because they won't replace it because it is outside the ordering window. I literally used it once!!! So disappointed.

Set it and forget it!
Great little incubator. I have a small flock and now and then I want a few more chickens. Even at my local Tractor Supply I have to buy a minimum of 6 chicks. I don't usually want that many. So this is great.... not to mention it can fit just about anywhere, I even did a small hatch on a side table by a high back chair in my living room. People that came over loved it. Great conversation peice. You fill the little resevoir with water... set what type of eggs (chicken, quail, guinea..custom) put your eggs in, close the lid and press go. My house stayed a constant 64 F and this unit remained at 37 C faithfully for the entire hatch. I put in 3 eggs and 2 hatched. But, I never had an incubator give me 100% hatch and I don't expect that. I hatched two fluffy healthy White Plymouth Rock chicks this April (2022). Not noisy while running, but it does play a notification sound once every hour before it turns the eggs (automatically) and the turner is a bit noisy for a few seconds... but, mostly silent. I wouldn't want it in my bedroom. So, if you need a reliable incubator to hatch just a few chicks in the spring or have a kid that wants to watch the miracle of life happen... you can not go wrong with this little guy!

Great Little Incubator!
A friend gave me my first incubator... An R-Com 3. I have hatched many batches of quail. The success rate has been terrific. I purchased the quail turner and that really helps. As long as you look at it daily and check that the water never runs dry, it seems to do the rest for you.Today I put in my first chicken eggs. I am excited. This never gets old.WHY I RATED ONLY 4 STARS:It is not quiet. When it turns the eggs, it is the loudest... but there is a hum constantly. So, I now put it in a room away from the main living areas. It also is expensive for a mini incubator. I got mine free, so that works for me. But I would have gone with a less expensive model if I had been purchasing. The hatch rate has been about 95% with the quail. So perhaps it is a case of you get what you pay for. It does a very good job.

... three of these incubators and do not find it easy to set for the all other bird setting
I have purchased three of these incubators and do not find it easy to set for the all other bird setting. Also, there is a tiny, tiny, tiny plug in to pull out to empty the water and if it gets lost there is no replacement. If you turn the unit to the side to install the plug which easily falls out and the water gets into the unit it no longer works. The felt pad for the babies after it hatches cost way too much. I plan to find another incubator as it is just not worth the money and the babies did not survive in it...and most of the small fertile eggs did not hatch.

Great quality, but lacks manual settings
This little thing really is an incredible incubator. It's dependable and simple to use, but it does have two minor drawbacks: It's noisy, and it has no manual settings. Unlike other high-quality mini bators like the Brinsea mini advance, you cannot control the temp or humidity. You just select the bird species from its menu and it does the rest. The other problem is that it beeps. A lot. It beeps when you turn it on, it beeps when it turns the eggs every two hours, and it beeps when the water reservoir is low! Those complaints aside though, I've had excellent results with it: 100% hatch rate for chicken eggs and 70% for my call ducks, which is quite high since they are notoriously difficult to hatch! If I had to do it all over again I'd probably drop the extra $60 and get the Brinsea, but if you're a first-time hatcher or perhaps a teacher who wants to hatch eggs easily for the classroom with a "set it and forget" incubator, then the rcom is definitely the best choice.
