Love the look of this press. Bought it for my husband’s birthday. He’s used it for a week and initially his concern was that the pour spout wasn’t able to be closed off so heat could escape during the prep process and beyond. He likes his coffee quite hot. He hasn’t said much more about that, however, is now expressing strong concerns about the fact that a significant amount of coffee grounds are ending up in his cup - the filtering isn’t working well enough. Now he’s talking making modifications to it. For as much as I paid for this press, that should NOT be a consideration. Hoping to find a solution, but currently a bit disappointed that what I thought was a higher end replacement as a gift may end up being a flop.

I asked for this as a Christmas gift because I wanted a French press that kept my coffee hot longer than my glass one. Which it does, but unfortunately it doesn’t strain coffee grounds well. There are always coffee grounds in my coffee when I pour. The metal mesh strainer that it came with does not fit snug enough to work properly. For the price of this press I’m very disappointed in the quality.
