Good little pump
I use these pumps on our quarantine tanks for our Koi. They work great for a110 gallon tank with 18” rise from bottom of tank to filter area. They last about 3-5 years for me.

Works great for my Ice Barrel 500
Not much to say except it is a workhorse and does what it needs to do for my cold plunge setup. Definitely recommend this.

Disappointed – Two Pumps Failed Within Days
I purchased the Danner Supreme 1800 Hydro-Mag pump for a small pond. The first unit worked for only a few days before it stopped pumping, though it had been making a rattling sound beforehand. Upon inspection, I found a broken keyway required to engage the impeller, along with scoring on the magnet. While researching potential causes, I learned that the pump has a very fragile ceramic shaft that drives the impeller—though that wasn’t the issue in my case. Still, it’s worth noting that the ceramic shaft is a known failure point for many users.Since the pump was out of warranty, I considered repairing it. Replacement parts for smaller Danner models are reasonably priced, but parts for the 1800 are surprisingly expensive. So instead, I decided to buy a brand new pump rather than invest in costly replacement parts for the original.Unfortunately, the second pump also failed after just a few days—this time with no noise, suggesting an internal electrical issue. Since the motor is sealed, it can’t be repaired. I contacted Danner customer service and received a troubleshooting guide, which I didn’t need—I was able to repair the first pump using parts from the second. This experience has convinced me to try a different brand next time. Also worth noting: the troubleshooting guide mentions that some failures, such as damage caused by running the pump dry, are not covered by the warranty.

Fountain pump
This is a premium pump. I am replacing one in the fountain that runs 24-7. It has run well for the last TWENTY years. Finally bearings went bad. This new one is quite powerful and heavily built.

Exact replacement for Danner pump that lasted at least 8+ years
Bought this to replace the exact model pump that had lasted 8+ years. May have lasted longer, got it as part of a used tank and don't know how long it had run previously. Plug and play. Very heavy duty pump. One thing I learned when replacing the pump - also purchased a multipurpose U return pipe with a siphon breaker hole. Previously during a power outage the upper tank back-siphoned and overflowed the lower tank. All good for at least 8+ years. And the older pump didn't fail completely - the motor was still working fine, probably could have bought replacement parts (impeller and housing) and got it running again, but needed a certain solution quick so didn't try that route.

Great Water Pump
I have 2 of these pumps, and one of them is a backup, which I haven't needed yet. These pumps work better as a sub pump than inline. If you decide to use the pump as an inline, make sure you have filtration setup. The water inlet inside the pump cover has extremely small slits in it and gets clogged easily. The noise level dropped a start because the pump can still be heard while submerged, and as an inline pump it makes a ton of noise in general. Overall, I recommend these pumps.
