can the tray at the top be removed and replaced when needed?

the stated dimesions for a 6-step step ladder are absurd. What are the correct measurements?

are the handrails removable

They are screwed on so are removeable. However, as a good safety feature of these ladders I think they are better left on. I find the ladders very stable and the handrail is an excellent addition so I would not recommend removing it. They add very little bulk to the ladder in terms of transportation or storage.

What is the depth of the steps please?

The tread depth is 230mm from tip to tip. You will find it very stable and strong.
