This is my second one and I only bought a second one because after 3 years the first one cord was messing up. I love this machine and it wasn't in stock, so I bought one that didn't do the job. This one is perfect for blocking out noise even on low volume. I listen to the rain all night long and it doesn't shut off because I plug it in to keep going. So, love this.

Went through 2 others, and they were junk. Crackling speakers and loop pauses that drive you nuts. Not this one! No loops, nice loud speaker! Been testing it for months. Even tested the battery, ran all night. Just don’t use the rain noise, or you’ll be getting up to pee all night!

My 10 y/o son has a lot of problems falling and staying asleep. We have tried a number of things, but after barely two weeks this is helping. So far we have only used the rain setting, but it is nice there there are a few other options to try. We'll be traveling soon and will test it's portability, but I'm not concerned. The only thing I see as a possible issue is knowing when to charge it back up. There's no indicator, so we'll probably have a rough night the first time we find that battery is low. We don't charge it every night and it is holding a good charge so far.

Nowhere on this site's information, box information or in any review does anyone bring up the fact that if you use this unit without the timer function like most people do with a noise generator for an all night sleep that after 20 minutes this loop changes to brown noise regardless of your sound choice. So we tried it while traveling this past weekend and we had the unit fully charged and plugged in and we selected brown noise. We fell asleep and awoke when the loop paused 10 seconds and changed to a different tone of brown noise before switching back to our original tone of brown noise. I unplugged the unit thinking maybe it happened because it was plugged in. Nope, we had the same thing happen again. Then we tried white noise and the same thing happened but it transitioned to brown noise. Then we tried pink noise and the same thing happened but it transitioned to brown noise. At this point we were tired and very frustrated so I just used my phone to find a free App to preclude a sleepless night. Luckily I kept the box and all the original paperwork so I will be sending this back for a refund. Note that this unit comes with an instruction guide that literally tells you nothing about how to operate the unit other than this button is entitled volume, this button is for adjusting the tone without really providing an explanation as to why you want to adjust the sound selection's tone? The unit is very well constructed, a great size for travel and we liked that it only lights up for a few seconds and then goes completely dark. I never understood sleep machines that had lights that stayed on all night. We loved the sounds and the volume of this unit, but not the 20 minute disruption to our sleep when the loops change to brown noise. Note for everyone buying this unit, the guide (that is not really a guide) that comes with this says a feature of the unit is: "Choose from programs scientifically engineered to help you fall asleep and stay asleep. Drift off to 20 minutes of your favorite nature or relaxation sounds, while gently transition to brown noise for the remainder of your night to help you achieve your deepest sleep." That feature DISRUPTED our sleep and it is the reason we are returning this unit. That is the dumbest feature on a sound machine ever. Buyer beware.

I use this in a old wood frame building where you can hear everything- the garbage truck at 5 am, people walking down the hall, talking, peeing in the toilet upstairs (gross). I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep to save my life. I was desperate so I got this based on the reviews. I love it! I use the “therapy” setting that has 30 minutes of rain and then “brown” noise for the rest of the night. I have it pretty loud (sounds like an air purifier running on high), I tried out the different noise types (white, pink, brown- who knew there were so many different types?) and different volume levels and finally found the right combo that blocks out about 95% of the noise. Now I sleep like a rock! I’m pretty sure they could be demoing the building and I could sleep thru it with this thing! Not really, but you get the point.

Love this sound machine. Used it every night for 15 months. Then all of a sudden it won’t charge or stay on for more than 30 seconds. I’ve tried new cord, different outlet, tried to take apart and can’t seem to get it open. I’m incredibly sad about this! My nephew has the same one and was good for years!

I bought this device because it had a "brown noise" option. I love it! It naturally has volume control but also a tonal control which is interesting to play around with. I have several Homedic products and have been happy with all of them. This one is my new favorite.

This was a great white noise machine. It worked well, and you could alter the ‘bass’ type noise as well as choose different option of ‘white’ noise. It seemed like it was well made and very good quality. I only returned it because I did not find any of the white noise sounds relaxing.

The unit seems to work well. The instructions are very vague.

I like this unit and the sound is pretty good. I have a few comments to consider. 1. The battery doesn't last very long. I have to recharge it after 3 days if you plan on using the sound for the entire night. I now leave it plugged into the wall all the time. 2. The Storm sound repeats the sequence way too quickly. It feels as if they have less than 30-second loop of the audio. I have an app on my ipad that may repeat but I have never been able to catch it repeating. Repeating works for rain and NOISE but the thunder storm should be much longer so you don't get caught in a loop.

Sleeping like a baby...I was skeptic at first but once you try it you’ll love it. A few settings, style of noise, tone, volume, etc. I like the white noise setting at low volume n tone. Tip don’t put it right next to your bed ...best to put in the center of the room either above your bed or across the room...not sure why or if science can explain....it just seems easier to fall asleep

I tried many many sound machines this ones deep tone is the best many others have broken down so soon after purchase but this one i bought my 3rd now for my 3rd child and its the only one we use!!! The tone is so good
