What a unique substitute for the rice that I had to cut out of my diet!

Excellent product.

Very earthy flavor, like beet. Overall, the product was well-packaged, and there were no issues with it.

Hearty, nutty flavored starch. As venison is to beef, the flavor of amaranth is to polenta - more robust and a bit more intense. A flavor personality all its own.

These are very fresh. I used them as seeds to grown them and see if the birds like them. So far a high percentage of the seeds germinated and the plants are doing well. Not sure what else to judge them by. If I need them again, I will buy again.

I was a bit leery but was pleasantly surprised. Has the consistency of grits but the grain is smaller. It has a nice nutty flavor and is a little sweet. I'll be ordering this again.

So, Ai from Google tole me, "Yes you can cook Amaranth in a Rice Cooker"...So I tried it and NO NO NO! I came back after 15-20 minutes and it had boiled over and everything was a mess :(I did taste a little of what was there and it was "ok", but it needs a bit more R&D :)I will try again soon enough by putting a little mixed in with my rice to see how that works? I suspect because this grain is so small-smaller than sand grains on the beach could explain why the rice cooker is not a winner?I will try to edit this review after I try Plan B :)
