IT IS UPLIFTING! EVERYONE MUST READ!
I am currently reading about five books and haven’t quite finished this one yet but let me tell you, it’s worth the buy!!! Even if you get anxiety few and far between. Coming from a therapist and also someone who personally struggles with PTSD, let me just say that we are all human. We can know what to do and how to identify things but not fully understand them until they happen to us. Everyone all over the world deals with anxiety but how we cope and how it presents itself can be two completely different things. Some internalize while others get angry. Some people get paranoid and others fall into depression. Many you know they struggle with anxiety and others you’d never know but trust me we all do. I never realized that my worries as a teen were symptoms of anxiety. We used the word sparingly but my techniques worked well to keep myself from being overwhelmed. I used that anxiety to my advantage but once I developed PTSD the things that came so natural to me were hard to do. Simple things that aren’t hard but you lack the drive or you have the drive but your body doesn’t react. There’s a disconnect when it comes time to do. I’ve spent a lot of time creating techniques to trick the brain and get things done but over the last five years I’ll run into something new that I have to relearn or overcome. It’s frustrating at times especially when I know how to do things and I simply can’t seem to follow through try as I might.With that said, one of my techniques is personal development and self empowerment. We can know how to do things all day but knowing how to put them into action and learning how to trick the anxious/depressed/fearful or what others call lazy (and we aren’t) brain is through empowerment. I love reading authors explanations of my own struggles and I love learning other techniques that I may use or tweak to my own advantage. Thing is, many struggle with being told we aren’t good enough, we won’t amount to anything, or simply treated as if we can’t function without another person. This creates such anxiety that feel capable and self confident is nonexistent. This book definitely emphasizes what I feel and how I work with my own clients. It also provides an uplifting twist to something so negative. It’s difficult to explain to most but with anything negative that happens, find something positive. There’s always something positive. This book explains that and encourages you to not be ashamed of anxiety and instead learn how to use it to your advantage. Through that it will also fade. I love it. I’m also humble enough to say that I don’t know everything. I also feel that those who say they know and still can’t pick this book up will be missing out. How we become experts and masters in the field is through continued learning and repetitive actions. If you’ve ever heard the saying that if you don’t use it you lose it, that’s what I mean. This book should also serve as a refresher. It’s an excellent read. Intriguing enough and I find myself smiling when I’m reading. Feeling motivated to start my day.You don’t have to have a diagnosis to benefit from this book. Everyone can benefit and learn about struggles other loved ones may have.

What A Gift!!
The Four Gifts of Anxiety is an answer to my prayers! I have suffered from anxiety for as long as I can remember and it only got worse as I got older. This book is showing me how to embrace anxiety and learn what it is trying to teach me about my true self.As a busy single mom it is difficult to get a lot of "me" time, but the tools and exercises (mental and physical) are so subtle that I can practice them almost anywhere, anytime.Thank you to the author, Sherianna Boyle, for sharing your incredible understanding and knowledge of anxiety and for sharing it with us!!
