This is an excellent system, although it has a relatively steep learning curve. I followed the instructions and videos exactly and performed a 24 hour leak test, which passed with flying colors. Be advised with the build up of multiple layers in corners and such, small tile such as are commonly used on shower floors, do not lay flat. The fix is a skim coat, allowing it to dry completely before setting the tile. I was a bit disappointed this was necessary, as I was hoping the presloped bed would allow me to forego that and make the project more expedient. However, I have always hired a plumber to install the pan and membrane, so i was able to save that cost in the project. All in all a do over, although hopefully it will get easier with subsequent projects.

On my second schluter DIY bathroom remodel. I've watched a zillion hours of video and in the end think this is the best system to get a water tight shower. But it is not easy!! Half way through I always wonder why I am doing this. But once it's done, I'm glad I have a solid foundation and knowing that I won't have to worry about mold and water leaks.

Makes new shower installation a breeze. Quality product. Was shipped US Post and they refused to deliver to my home due to it being oversized. Had to pick it up myself.

Installing a tiled shower and this looked like the best option. Tile store reccomended. Watched numerous company and other videos showing installation process. Followed instruction carefully. (I am not a professional but probably an advanced DIY'er) Installing wall waterproofing membrane was a disaster- it would not stick to non mod cement applied with correct notched trial over Hardie board. It appears that the backer board sucks moister out of cement and reduces adherence. After strongly squeegeeing it, it pulled off wall with little or no cement transferred. Pan, curb, and drain kit worked well, though in my opinion overpriced for what you get. Cut curb down to 3 1/2" as the height it comes is way too high- what's the point of having a walk in shower if you have to step over a large object? Back buttered the strips around pan and curb and they stuck. Purchased and applied 2 gallons of redguard which is a whole lot easier to install. This kit is expensive so would recommend only buying some components and skip the wall membrane. Kit says it includes drain kit but the box doesn't list it- it's added to it and in the box.

These units are great to work with.The price was excellent for all the components that were included.You will need to purchase the actual drain/grate fitting separately. Styles and finish vary, so it’s not included.My only complaint was that the unit I received was labeled and packaged as an offset drain, but the base was actually a center drain. It was the original factory box, and had not been opened. We worked with what we had, but it was a challenge.
