Monarch Specialties White Hollow-Core 3 Drawer File Cabinet on Castors

Perfect addition to our home office. We bought our white desk from a different retailer, and purchased this file cabinet which completes the look perfect. It's durable and sleek and plenty storage, though I wish it had two file drawers. It took about 2 hours to put together but overall fairly easy.

The quality and look are great. Perfect match with my Monarch desk. Easy to assemble if you follow the instructions closely and organize all the pieces numerically and separate your hardware for easy access, before getting started. DON'T GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF. The drawers slide in and out like butter and it rolls with incredible ease when needed and stays steady when the brakes are applied. The top is perfect for placing your printer and off the desk. I love it.

This is a nice piece of furniture, it was solidly packed, so there was no chipped edges or any damage.I had trouble at first putting it together, because there were no written instructions, only pictures. But once I figured out that next to each metal fastener I also had to glue in a wooden dowel (glue supplied), and that I had to pay attention which part of the metal drawer rails needed to go where (CL for left side, CR for right side) I finally got it done.Putting the drawers together was the hardest part, the rest was easy. It took me about 4 hours to do it.

Somehow I missed the “assembly required” aspect— I thought I was receiving an assembled unit. Luckily, I enjoy this type of challenge and challenge it was. I put on my Amazing Race imagination and dug in. There is a LOT going on in the #small diagrams and no written explanations at all. Took a couple of hours, and patience galore, to put together and by the way, some important hardware is packed in the wheels package and not in the hardware package!Looks nice with one major flaw... I mistook the need to insert the file hanging bars before I glued, doll rodded, and bracketed the bottom drawer. Mistook the rods in the diagram mere diagram “lines”. Luckily we didn’t need the hanging file folder aspect because that was not going to happen at this late point in the process without complete disassembly of the drawer and likely busting wood as the glue had set. And there was no forcing those things in now for sure.So. Seems like a solid little unit. Looks nice. Drawers glide well.PSA!!!! Challenging. “AssemblyRequired”!!!!

Do not buy this item!!!! This is the first time I have ever been moved to write a negative review. Whoever wrote that his wife assembled it in two hours must work for the company. Those who wrote it was a nightmare were being generous. It is of the very poorest quality....almost hard to believe Monarch can get away with selling a product of such low quality for this price....especially when you have to assemble it yourself. Pieces of the very thin white laminate broke off in the assembly process leaving the particle board exposed. Drawers don't align. Instructions are quite challenging but eventually decipherable, albeit with some guess work. The chest is unusable and it will likely end up in the trash and I'll just have to accept the loss of almost $200. I can't even return it now without spending another day disassembling it, packing it (it is very heavy), lugging it and paying shipping costs. To say I'm sorry I bought it does not come close to describing it. I hope I am accurately communicating my frustration. I wish I could give it less than one star.

We purchased this Monarch file cabinet to go with our Monarch desk. We wanted the extra space on top to hold our printer. It works out well and the extra drawer space is a plus. It was fairly easy to assemble, arrived undamaged (package was completely wrapped in bubble wrap), and we are very happy with it.

I was nervous about purchasing these file cabinets based on some reviews that I read and pictures I saw. However I’m glad I decided to order them anyway. Putting the cabinets together was not difficult at all. The only part that was a little confusing was putting the tracks on the drawers. Once I figured that out it was a breeze. I opted to put legs on the cabinets versus the wheels so I could rest a desk top across them. They were packaged well and everything lined up perfectly. I’m happy with the end results.

I'm very happy with these drawers. They arrived promptly, they were relatively easy to assemble, and they work well in my space. They fit nicely under my desk, which is what I wanted. The top two shelves are a little shallow in terms of height but the width is great. I'm very glad for the 5th wheel, which keeps the drawers stable.
