Q: Do plecos like to gnaw on chollo,?

They'll probably go for any alge or microorganism that grow on it

Q: There's little fuzzy mold on the cholla wood. Is this normal?

Mine certainly did not have anything like that. It was 100% dry and I had to let it soak for about 3 days before it would even sink. Sounds like it may not have been dried and packaged while still damp.

Q: Do these help lower the pH in Aquarium water?

I have not seen any significant ph reduction, since adding to my dwarf shrimp tank. .they love it though, all over and through all the time
