🐶 Train Smart, Not Hard! 🐱
The Snappy Trainer is a safe and effective pet training tool designed for both dogs and cats. Featuring a mousetrap-like mechanism with a large red flap that snaps shut, it provides instant feedback through a loud noise without harming your pet. The adjustable flap allows for customization based on your pet's size, making it a versatile choice for pet owners.

Great deterrent
Our dog takes food off the counter, gets into the trash, the kitty litter, you name it... This "trap" works great! When tripped, it makes noise and jumps about a foot into the air. (The trip is pretty sensitive -- we have to be careful when setting it down.) It's really light plastic so it wouldn't hurt even if it did hit her. It's just a sudden noise and movement that startles her (and us!). If your dog isn't easily startled or is really stubborn, this might not work for you. We only have to "arm" it once in a while to remind her how scary it is. Then just placing it where we need it is enough to keep her away. Sometimes just showing it to her works. I'm going to buy a few more to place them strategically throughout the house!

Works but difficult and overpriced
One review stated you get two but the seller I bought it from only gives you one. I found it kind of difficult to set up. It comes with no instructions and yes you can figure it out but it took a few minutes. My cats set it off a few times and now won't go near it. If you have a large space you are trying to protect I recommend getting two. What you are getting is a cheap mouse trap with two pieces of plastic on it. The price is a bit steep for how cheap this is made.

Don't Waste Your Money If You're Training Cats
Absolutely doesn't work for kittens. My 7 month old kittens look at it and walk around it or over it. It hasn't "sprung" yet because of the kittens. What a waste of money. Even putting two on a bookcase, the kittens just look at it and step over. Even when one brushed it it wasn't enough to set it off. The red flap is way too small and sits about 3/4 inch above the ground which the kittens can clearly see. I've seen websites that say you should turn this upside down but that's not what the directions tell you to do. I'll try it upside down now and post a comment on my review IF it works. No additional comment means it didn't work.

Snappy Trainer 1, Coonhound Shedding Machine 0
The Snappy Trainer is a solid low tech/no tech affordable solution for undesirable pet behaviors. We added a a 6 year-old coonhound shedding machine to the home with an affinity for lounging on furniture. She has set off the Snappy Trainer twice during the first week of use and our furniture is ready for plopping down after the long day without the need for vacuuming. Note that the devices are slightly modified mouse traps so they may not be the best solution for those with dexterity challenges.

Worked like a charm!
We put 3 of these on the counter and left the kitchen (with a roasted chicken on the counter) Within minutes the dog was up and starting to sniff around and she set off one, which set the other 2 off. She took off like a shot and wouldn't come downstairs for 2 days! She didn't get hurt, the trainer is set up to make a loud noise, if anything the soft plastic paddle swats her as it releases, but it doesn't hurt (we tested it out before we set them up). Now, all we have to do is hold up the trainer when we are eating dinner and she leaves the dining room and goes out to sit on the couch. The Snappy Trainer is an excellent training tool to cure Dawg from counter and table surfing.

Dogs Yes, Cats No
The first time I used this product was 25 years ago when I raised Golden Retrirvers and it worked as expected. I have a cat now and for the cat people you can forget about this product. Cats are too agile for this to work effectively.

Not so snappy
This product works the first couple of times, however, my dog quickly got used to the "snap" and learned to ignore it....it's also very tricky to set up.If your dog is the type who scares and learns his lesson it may work, not so for my dog.......

I used packing tape to hold them on and it seems to work better. It has been a good training tool
Red flaps fly across the room every time the trap is activated. I used packing tape to hold them on and it seems to work better. It has been a good training tool, and has reduced the amount of times my dog was climbing on the counter.
