Described as 'including a starter' although absent from the thick card tube, its plain retail carton, which was open and uncapped when delivered and not found among the packaging. Consequently, it was not installed, and a return requested. One of another brand was ordered and delivered complete and installed in its place.Compared with the lightweight glass tubes of the past, although this is plastic-encased, it was surprisingly heavy; its replacement was not! This type of casing is less fragile than glass and should be safer to handle and to dispose when it eventually dies. Light levels are very similar to that from a 60W equivalent and of a warm tone, although more 'blue' than the older fluorescent types which usually offered colour temperatures of 3000-3200K; this is 4000K. A lifespan of 30,000 hours is given, equating to up to 16 years if used 5 hours daily. In a retail or workplace environment and used 10 hours daily, 5 days per week it could last 10 years. With longer life and reduced power usage, although initially expensive, it will save money long-term.An instruction leaflet is included but the wording is particularly unclear and likely to confuse. While it correctly states that the ballast starter used with fluorescent tubes must be discarded, it fails to clearly mention that only an LED starter should be used (ideally that supposedly supplied).

Didn't need the starter as it can be wired direct to the mains (ask a qualified person if you are not sure) I found the directions pretty clear to follow. Only problem I had was getting the item out of the packaging TUBE !!!!!

Delivered with tyre marks on packaging. Installed and either the tube or fixing shorted an blew the fuse. All consigned to the bin and new ones bought from ScrewFix

Very good design but confusing

Has not arrived, should have been here Wednesday, now Friday night. Needed it for our camp site toilets!

Very easy to fit and very bright

Tube arrived without the advertised starter, which in the end was not required. Tube was bent, but as it was urgent, tried to fit, after some carefully manipulation, got it fitted and it is lovely, bright and white!!!

Excellent
