Yes. The B&O MMC cartridges were a moving iron cartridge with an output typically well above the 0.5mV minimum required for the 651p. It should sound great!Dick from Spearit Sound

No, Cambridge Audio states that the 651P has higher quality internal components, enhancements to the circuit design & there is a 'rumble' (LF) filter. However, both of these units are for the casual enthusiast, and I doubt the 651 is worth the extra $$$ if you will be staying with a moving magnet cartridge. For a sophisticated playback system and discerning ears, I'd pass on both, for casual listening, the less expensive model should be fine.

Q: Would this device work with vintage 60's-era powered Bose speakers? I just want to spin records and don't want a huge all in one receiver.

This is just a pre-amp. Meaning it boosts the small signal from a turntable to a volume where an amp can do its job. Old amps used to have a phono stage, and some new amps do. Essentially this is the phono stage separate from an amp amp.

Q: Does it plug directly to 220v or do I need a transformer?

It plugs into US 120V AC, so if you need to plug it into 220V, get a converter
