Beautul, but...
Just as lovely as you expect from the pictures. It's quite heavy, due to quality materials, and so a bit difficult to handle if you are slight. But the real problem is execution. We returned two. The first had spot welds for the bottom anchor of the handle to the kettle. These seem to have perforated the kettle in manufacture, so that water leaks out of the bottom of the handle. Not a minor amount. A wipe up every time it was used. The replacement (we wanted so to have one!) arrived with the handle broken in two large pieces. There was no damage to the boxes, so it's a mystery. i did note that the spot welds on the lower handle mount were loose on this one too. I didn't put water in it, but assume it leaked at those welds like the first one.Very sorry to give a poor review, because the kettle is gorgeous, and we would have loved to have one on in our kitchen.

A piece of art
Beautiful styling. very well made. it is pretty heavy. only negative is it sounds like a fog-horn. not sure where the 'chirp' name actually comes from. It isn't a chirp! But it is a lovely piece of artwork in our home.

Pretty but Worthless ...Manufacturing Issue?
I got this because my aunt had one which I used at her house and the chirping sound it made to announce that the boiling water was so lovely it was arresting. I thought that this was something I could keep for many years to come. Less than a week ago the kettle arrived, quite a long time after it was initially ordered, but that didn't bother me so much as everything practical to do with the kettle itself.I don't know if this is a knock-off or what. It is pretty, but that's about all it has going for it. The only way to get water in or out is through the normal-sized spout, which is a bit narrow for pouring water into if you using water from a Brita pitcher. The handle gets incredibly hot so you have to use a pot holder to pour your hot water. Finally, and what I find the most annoying, the noise this object omits when water is brought to a boil brings to mind some kind of Holocaust siren. I was reading on the sofa in a nearby room waiting to hear a melodious chirping when I gradually became aware of a disturbing sound, growing in volume. I honestly thought there was some kind of air-raid alarm going off outside, or that our pipes were about to spontaneously combust before I realized what the source of the offending noise was. Were the problem simply the noise the kettle makes, given that I've seen exactly this kettle function very differently I might try to exchange it. However, I doubt that even a properly functioning whistle wouldn't have a handle that got to hot to handle, then add the awkward spout situation to the mix and this kettle alluring design just isn't worth it.I'm going to return it and get the OXO Good Grips Anniversary Edition Uplift Tea Kettle, Polished Stainless Steel , for nearly half the price too.

I Wanted to Love This Tea Kettle
I loved the look of this kettle, but upon using it it was a disappointment. It is very difficult to fill due to the opening being so small. I use my tea kettle to make coffee in a French press coffee pot so I fill it full. Because the fill opening is so small you have to hold the pot in your hand while filling it. It gets quite heavy and is generally a pain to do. If you are wanting it for a cup of tea or two, it would be better. It is very beautiful to look at.

Poor quality fit and finish
AVOID!! Poor quality fit and finish, which is unfortunate because it looks great... Whistle did not work and steam leaked around opening.

Does the job!
Beautiful! Sleek! Heavy Duty! Everything I need in a tea kettle. The only drawback is the fact that the whistle is nothing like a chirping bird. More like a warning signal than a pleasant chirp.
