Homestead 32 oz Hummingbird Red Nectar Concentrate (Liquid) - 4371

I'm updating this review to reflect the fact that the product itself is excellent.However, I should have known better than to order a liquid product online, particularly one that's sticky and red. Never again.The air-filled bags in the shipping box had sticky red nectar on them. Obviously, the nectar bottle was covered with the stuff. It didn't leak a lot, but it doesn't take much to make a mess.A 10-lb bag of cat food in the same order now has sticky red stuff on the outside. I was able to clean off most of it, but any that remains in the bag's seams will attract ants into my pantry. This is probably my biggest concern at the moment. Other items in the shipment are individually boxed and don't appear to be damaged. I wish someone had thought to put the bottle into a resealable plastic bag before shipping, to reduce the likelihood of the box's contents from becoming damaged.Since I can't imagine returning a product like this (and would be more inclined to return the cat food because of the potential ant problem), I will keep the nectar concentrate and see how the hummers like it.

Why can’t I find this anymore. I used the bottle I bought and now can’t find it anywhere. I tried a different brand and my hummingbirds won’t drink it.

I do not use this a full-strength. I make up 2 cups worth of this product and then fill a large container with a 8 cups of a solution of 1/4 cup organic sugar to 1 cup boiling water. The hummers love it!

We received on time & I was surprised that they had it packed in a plastic bag. I would of given it 5 stars, but for putting down the directions in a way you have to go back to high school to figure out.The 32 oz of nectar makes 224 ounces. They have room on the bottle to put in a chart. Break it down in ounces of water to nectar...3 oz nectar= ? water6 oz " =& so on.KISS- Keep it Simple Stupid

I've mixed my own nectar for years and it's messy and time consuming. This premixed solution is great and the hummingbirds love it. This solution last longer than the do it yourself sugar solution. The do it yourself solution will normally spoil after a few days. This product seems to last twice as long. The birds drink all the solution before I need to refill the bottles instead of me having to dump out nectar because it has gone bad. Quick and easy, long lasting and less mess.

We feel that the Homestead Hummingbird Food really draws Hummingbirds. We have more birds at our feeder than our neighbors.

Product mix consistency in question. Current batch of food came out a tea color look even when mixed at full strength (2 cups water to 1/2 cup nectar). However, the hummingbirds still feed with no second guess about the nectar they are consuming so I give this product a 3 star. I cannot test for anything else that could be missing or less of but it’s not bothering them so I will continue to use.

My humming birds love this stuff. I like knowing it has vitamins and calcium so they will be healthy. It's also extremely easy to use. I mix it up fresh each time I refill the feeder so there's no need to store large quantities in the fridge. (The concentrate doesn't have to be refrigerated but the diluted solution does.)
