Probably hours, but it's intended use is 'not' to burn continuously, neither to provide 'visible light'.

yes, that's fine. In fact 99.9% is probably the best you can use.

i have only used metholated spirit with my lamp,i expect rubbing acohol will burn, so try a spot on a dish to see if will burn without smoke,hope this may help fred

In theory, yes you can use ‘lamp oil’. My question is “why would you use lamp oil”? This is an ‘alcohol burner’ and it’s fuel is denatured alcohol which burns with a ‘clean flame’. That’s to say, there’s miniscule to no combustion deposits from the flame. To burn lamp oil would produce unknown contaminant deposits and that’s very far from the intended use of this lamp. If you’re intention is to use ‘lamp oil’ then I respectively suggest you should look in the ‘gardening’ section for such burners.
