Update: 08/02/19, it's been 1 month from the day I ordered the backrest and the clip on the backrest connecting to the docking plate came apart. 30 days later wouldn't you know. Now I have top deal with there return polucy. Think before you buy..........I bought a new 2019 Street Glide Special and I bought an aftermarket detachable back rest with a luggage rack.The steel sissy bar IS heavy duty. The pad is a medium size and nice, would have given 5 stars however the instructions for attaching the pad are not clear. The luggage rack is an added perk. This was easy to install and took no time at all. Spent 50% less than the dealership. I would recommend to anyone with a FLHXS and the best part it arrived 6 days early.

If this will be the first thing you are installing on the rear fender mounts, you will need additional mounting hardware. Their instructions show 2 additional brackets needed for install than what is included in the kit.Back cushion requires a bit of finagling to get the bolts lined up and installed. Need additional extension mounts for the front.

Worked OK. I used this on a 5k trip to Sturgis. Seemed sturdy and held my bag fine. It wasn't hard to install. Everything seemed to work fine until I got back and noticed that the sissy bar rubbed the paint of the struts cover on my bike. Just goes to show, you get what you pay for. Cheap parts, don't work exactly right. I'm thinking of I put a form of spacer in next time it "might not rub the paint off further.It was a tight fit, and didn't rattle around while I was on my trip.

The fit and finish was good, not perfect but good. I’ve had the H-D stuff on previous bikes and just couldn’t justify the cost. My advise don’t mix and match buy the package and it all fit well. I originally just ordered the mounts and was going to use my old H-D chrome set since I don’t use the back rest often and it would not line up with the OEM H-D rack or back rest. It actually disfigured one one the bushings getting the backrest on. I would buy this again over the H-D stuff and put my money into better things on the bike.

It went on smooth and with ease on my 2019 Street Glide. I have no problem. My wife loves it! for the price you can't beat it. No need to pay for an over price backrest when this does the trick with no problem! Backrest is a basically bolt and play. No need for any mods, Just simply remove the bags and remove the old stock plastic piece and bolt this bad boy in.

Installed this in place of the luggage carrier on ultra classic. Rack bolted up easy. When it came to the backrest, that's another story. Had to take a Dremel and sand down where the forks go onto rack brackets, remove the locking mechanism and sand those forks down also. For the money I would think this would be a bolt on, with no issues.

So after reading all the mixed reviews, I was hesitant to purchase this item. Didn’t want to spend 900 at harley cause I want to buy a tour pack later from harley. So first the quick disconnect brackets came from a warehouse in the LA area and the backrest and rack came from China, had to wait another week. So I don’t know what all is bitching about cause I was impressed with the item. It all fit with no bending or modifying. Does it look like the harley stuff? Not sure. Does it go off and on like the harley stuff? Not sure. But over all 900 vs. 2 something. I’m very happy

I bought this product in spite of some of the reviews. Its pretty good. Not perfect. Not as robust as the OEM. But, how much are you carrying? I might carry as much as 10-15 lbs at most. Good for medium duty stuff. That's all I need. Backrest is pretty solid. Fit ok. Hand to bend it slightly to fit. But for $190 ? . Can't beat it.. Not bad. Not perfect but, good enough.
