Broke in 4 weeks
This is garbage. The paint chips within a week, the screws come loose and fall off. The bamboo spout that is supposed to fill and drop the water stopped working.

Lovely, little water effect
The media could not be loaded. I like that it's all one piece. There is a long thin bolt that the falling tube turns on, and I have to periodically check the bolt because it backed off and fell into the pool. I didn't like how a lot of water drains off the back and out of the pool. I repositioned it and it's perfect now and is a nice addition to my quiet garden. The sound it makes isn't quite what I hoped for, but not the annoying crack I noticed the bamboo fountains were making, plus this appears to be sturdy and should last. Not at all sorry I purchased.

buying shishi-odoshi, be prepared to cover it using satin clear enamel to protect layer of paint.
If you buying this shishi-odoshi, be prepared to cover it using satin clear enamel to protect layer of paint. Good quality of plastic, bad quality of painting. This company should be fired all engineers who designed this item, especially moving axis. You also can add small rock or peace of bambo to somehow simulate sound of real shisho-odoshi.

Lovely but incomplete water fountain
This bamboo (resin) water fountain is lovely and works well. BUT it doesn’t have a pump or receptacle for the water. The pump they recommend is too powerful. We ended up getting a pump like we use in our pet water fountain. You can find it on the Pet Safe website.

Lame. Don't waste your time/money
I was excited to order this because the bamboo shishi-odoshi I was going to get was no longer available. Since the bamboo ones only last about a year, I was hopeful that this resin one would be an improvement. But alas -- it's SO much worse! The rocker are is only about 6 inches long and is so poorly balanced that anything over a steady drip of water into it will simply push it down and it won't rock at all. Further, when it does rock, the arm is so poorly weighted and balanced that it barely touches the rear stop when it rebounds and it is virtually silent -- so no traditional "clack" that you expect from a "deer chaser". This one's going the the garbage! Nice try, but no cigar. ;^(

High quality
High quality resin construction makes it long lasting rather than bamboo. Realistic appearance. A very attractive amenity to any garden setting. It adds action and sound when paired with a solar water pump to a small pond.

It didn't work.
When it first came it was broken so Amazon replaced it quickly. But when the second one came I installed it and it doesn't go up and down. The water fills up the pipe and then dribbles over the edge. I can touch it and it easily moves but I guess the balance wasn't done correctly when they put it together and it won't work now.

I REALLY wanted to love it...
So delivery was fast which was great. However that’s about where the positive ended for me.First picture shouldn’t even be on here since it’s not the same product. The tipping bamboo part, where your attention will be focused, looks like cheap plastic in the inside, where as the spout where the water pours out is designed to look like bamboo both on the outside and on the inside.Feels solidly attached to the base, but the tipper feels like it’s not very well put together, even after tightening the screws it showed the metal rod running through the middle and still felt too loose. The whole thing is also a bit top heavy, so it kept leaning forward in the water and then the water from the spout would pour too far to the right so it didn’t always fill up correctly. If it wasn’t leaning forward the water would start to leak out the back of the tipper, I’m not sure if it was crack somewhere or just the way it was made. When it did fill up, the tipper is way too shallow so it’s too fast. It wasn’t the rhythmic clack every 15 or 30 seconds I was expecting, more of an annoying smack every 5 seconds.Honestly, for the best part of $100 I expected something at least decent, this is far from decent. If you can get it for $30 and stick it off in the corner of your garden somewhere then it would be fine. Otherwise pass.I REALLY wanted to love it but I was just left disappointed.
