Best dye ever. I ordered a few different colors and did the machine wash route.

I used two packages on a floor length silk gown. The color turned out nearly black, but I think that was my fault for using so much dye. No one could tell that I dyed the dress myself

I guess it works as expected... I have a cotton/poly blend (80/20) bedspread I have wanted to dye grey. I followed the instructions and mixed the poly and cotton dyes, but the instructions were to boil the fabric in a pot for about an hour... not really doable with a king size bedspread, so I did my best in my washing machine (with my water heater on scalding) and kept pouring boiling water in throughout the hour. It came out indigo. Even the cotton thread isn't grey. I knew it was a long shot without boiling the poly blend, but I did expect the 100% cotton thread at least to be grey.The pros- easy to follow instructions and the color is very consistent, with no blotches or pooling. If only I wanted indigo... ;)

Mine turned out BLUE :( Nothing "GUN METAL " about it ! JUST PLAIN OLD BLUE....BLUE -BLUE...I AM SINGING THE BLUES! Darn it, now all my napkins are blue. YUCK! Having said that the product is very easy to use and clean. I have tried other colors that were more true to the color in my past.
