Practical sound advice anyone can get behind, no matter where you are in life. Shannon allows you to abandon the guilt you feel about money and shows you how to make a clear path ahead that covers both your responsible financial needs and more frivolous fun.

Very practical. Advice that goes beyond the usual 'cut up your credit cards and never drink coffee again'

FINALLY a practical money management book for the real world
This is hands down one of the best money books I've ever read. It's the most PRACTICAL and doable system, and gives tons of real-world examples and breakdowns of real people's financial lives + budgets (which is incredibly illuminating!).It covers money mindset, FOMO, and lifestyle expectations so you understand how/why you feel the way you do about your money. One of my favourite things is how she acknowledges that we get ourselves into trouble through a series of "F*** it moments." Everything is so relatable and written in a modern day perspective and understanding (aka, credit cards are not the devil, but you need to really understand how to use to your advantage). Then she dives into how to actually break down your monthly spending into a system THAT MAKES SENSE and works. It helps you answer the question "can i afford this?" with a real system and understanding behind why or why not, and what happens if/when you decide to buy something you can't afford. Then, one of the missing pieces, she explains how to put into a place a STRATEGIC BANKING PLAN. This is where she gets specific about what happens to your money after each paycheck, and how to make sure you don't feel stretched too thin. This is the only system I've read and implemented that I can actually see working in the long term, and really has helped me understand current day financial situation, plus also allows me to understand the future impact of my day to day decisions.Another great concept? Distinguishing between happy and unhappy spending, so you actually have a budget for the things you love, and really work to reduce the "stuff" that doesn't bring you a ton of happiness.SO many good nuggets, just buy the damn book.I feel like this book a modern day evolution of Total Money Makeover, with a splash of Money Love, but waaaay more practical, specific, and actionable. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I've recommended to ALL my friends.

Mostly filler, questionable logic.
This book might be my new top example of "Author trying to hit their publisher's request word-count". Very basic stuff over-explained with eye-blurringly lengthy, boringly-structured stories... reads like a stitched together bunch of cliched recipe blog posts that tell the life story of the author before getting to the very basic instructions. It's at the point when she started using astrological signs to explain her client's spending patterns that I realized how the book is designed to swindle the target audience.

Very practical and fun
As a senior who's been through all the stages in my life and still working, I found this book interesting with a refreshing point of view toward money that millennials or those just starting out would find helpful.
