BAFANGBBS02 48V 750W Mid Drive Kits Mid Motor Ebike Conversion Kits with Chainring Wheel and LCD Display(No Battery)

Very cool project. Not for people looking for "set it and forget it". Good E-mountain bikes are $2,500+ and require you to get it fixed at a shop or warranty. This is a DIY hobby and if you like working on bikes, it's a blast. The result of this kit and a GT Aggressor from "richards" sports store. And a few other odds and ends, along with a 10ah battery was well worth it. Just use the motor to get you through tough spots or extend your ride to double. Don't treat it as a dirt bike and throttle the entire time blazing past people. This just makes people hate e-bikes. Be sure to order a shift cable sensor and the $20 programming cable (the stock pedal assist levels are not great). A few adjustments to the settings on a laptop made this run incredible. Youtube some videos on installation as well as programming the controller a bit. Have fun.FYI bought a second kit. It fits very well on a Gravity FSX full suspension frame. Zero bottom bracket or chain line obstructions. The 68mm bottom bracket on the Gravity frame is actually better because it gives you enough threads to use the locknut when you tighten the BBS02.

This is my second purchase of a Bafang BBS02, newest is now called M615 which is the updated version of the BBS02 with the CASbus protocol. I have converted a two wheel bike of my own and also done three other conversions for others, and now a conversion of a three wheel Terratrike for myself with this latest kit. The value for money is tremendous. I am keeping my two wheel bike, converted four years ago which has had 3,600 miles of trouble free riding, and using the battery from the first conversion to the newly purchased conversion of the Terratrike. The battery still has goid range although is showing a slight drop in capacity. I think I can get another season or two from this battery. For this reason I ordered and additional battery mount, so I van switch batteries between the two depending on which I want to ride that day. I am doing all this for about $500. The Terratrike was used and cost me under$800, so will have about $1300 invested in a machine that would cost $5,000 to $6,000 new. The motor that comes with a new Terratrike is the Bosch middrive. It is expensive and much less powerful than the Bafang. That's good value! The ease of installation is nice too. The kit is made for a bicycle so the wire harness that comes in the kit is designed for that purpose. I only had to add an extension of the speed sensor cable, about 30", to make it work. The components in the kit are high quality. I know what to expect for performance and power I think, but cannot testify yet because it is still below zero where I live. The seller of the kit has been very helpful and answered many questions for me. 5 star for sure. I will post an update in another month or so and include photos.UPDATE: See 2 photos attached. First if all the seller, Greenenergia, has been great to work with and answered all my questions. I mounted the battery to a plate suspended from the frame under the seat. On the opposite side I added a small toolbox to the same plate to offset the weight of the battery. The flag is a 12" x 18" American flag mounted to a fiberglass reflective driveway marker from Menards.

Works well. The motor is solid. It is powerful and street-legal in my state. Seller (greeneria) also worked with me on solving a few problems and really went above expected on support. Strongly recommend seller.I have already bought another motor from them to use on my next project.Yes, the shipping is expensive and makes the price appear lower when browsing. I had installed the Bafang 500W Mid Drive kit on a Catrike Villager a couple of years ago and it worked great. The owner was super happy, with 100s of miles of issue-free use. This year, I was ready to electrify my own 2013 Catrike Trail and again, wow, does this system work great. Last time I primarily used the video instructions, which are decent but had to stop and start the video multiple times. This time, I used a combination of the videos and the installation manual. Take your time, double check your work and make sure you really torque down the motor in the bottom bracket. 500W motor + 48V battery = super power assist on hills.

The picture is extremely misleading. Says it's the 48V 750 Watt kit but does not come with the battery dispite showing it as part of the kit. I wouldn't have bought it if I knew it didn't come with the battery

Very easy to install on my city bike. The motor very smoothly operates and is really well behaved as far as integration with the rider pedalling.

As an experienced e bike installer, I messaged that display and battery swapped to older bike works fine, but the newly purchased motor/controller not sending signal to the Display. Motor not running. Reply is , Still asking me to troubleshoot further instead of sending label to send unit to test /repair. Wasted energy, time $!. Second, third messages I sent through Amazon site No action yet !BaN

It worked well for a while and now it doesn't work makes noise and it won't go forward. I want to know if I can get a refund.
