One of the best daily devotions I've had in a long time!
I'll be honest, I bought this book because I love coffee and NEED to be more intent on spending time with God first thing in the morning. All I can say is WOW!!! Definitely worth the buy!! A devotional like this should have come out a long time ago. It's great to wake up every morning, sip on coffee, and be inspired by God's word along with the perfect blend (pun intended) of real-life stories, examples and everyday challenges. Did I mention it's also full of amazing coffee recipes?! BUY THIS BOOK!!!!

Highly Recommended
I’m extremely picky when it comes to devotionals, but “Coffee Shop Devos” by Tessa Emily Hall is one I would highly recommend for teenage girls. What makes this devotional stand out from others is that the author breaks her chapters into topics and is designed for the reader to start in a topic of where they’re at in that particular moment. Each chapter or section is set up as a menu as if you were going into a physical coffee shop. The author even includes recipes that sound delicious. If you’re like me and you aren’t a coffee drinker, no worries because you don’t have to enjoy coffee to enjoy this one. Each devotional is short, only a page or two long. There is a key verse, a short personal story, a dare or challenge that brings the topic into a daily application. Dares range from a mixture of different things such as sometimes it will be to listen to a song and then spend some quiet time with God, looking up specific scriptures about the topic, beginning a prayer journal, and so much more. The author also has thought-provoking questions and challenges girls to share on social media. They are great conversation starters whether you use it as a group or individually. But, most important of all, Tessa points her readers to grow in their relationships with God.While this is geared for teens, most of the devos that I’ve read in the book would be perfect for anyone of any age. I’m 26 and I’m enjoying every moment of it! Highly recommended!Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher for my honest review, which I have given. I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way. All opinions expressed are my own.

Honest, Simple, and Sweet
**I received a free copy of Coffee Shop Devos from the publisher in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. **Over the years I was subject to many girls’ devotionals that never seemed to teach anything. They talked down to me, as if I was immature and only interested in boys and makeup (which I wasn’t). I longed for something more, for someone to take me seriously and to TEACH me.When Tessa announced her Coffee Shop Devos, I was thrilled. If it was anything like her other work, I knew it was going to be good.Tessa’s devos are honest, simple, and sweet. She’s personal with you, in a way I’ve never seen in a devotional.I liked how Tessa wove the coffee theme into the book, with each section dedicated to a different coffee drink and a different need (ex. the fifth section is "Macchiato--Healing for Heartache.”).Other examples are:Mocha—Inspiration for the SoulLatte—Comfort in TrialsEspresso—Joy for Each Moment.Cappuccino—All About RelationshipsI also really enjoyed the quotes that were included at the end of each devotional—often they were just what I needed and they were uplifting and encouraging.Tessa’s Coffee Shop Devos are food for your soul, giving you a little bit of everything that you need to get you through your day. From lessons on God’s never-failing love, the seasons of life, and trusting in God’s plan, to transforming the trash and living to our greatest potential, Coffee Shop Devos is a pick-me-up that any young lady can glean encouragement from. It makes the perfect gift for the friend or sister in your life—the perfect guide to help them in the New Year, and for many years to come.

Jesus and Coffee
Like the messages, but feel like the themes should be connected to bring a richer, deeper, and meaningful relationship among the devotionals

Discover your God-given purpose
The synopsis of the book calls it “a warm atmosphere” and I have to agree with that. The style of each entry is friendly and down-to-earth. Each devotion has the following sections:Scripture to sip onLet’s chat about itLet’s think about itLet’s pray about itToday’s dareA shot of inspirationJoin the convoEach reading has a single Bible verse and then encouragement related to that verse and challenges to help deepen your relationship with God. I like the “Join the convo” idea. Each day there is a discussion question that you are encouraged to answer on social media (along with a picture of your drink of the day). So you can converse with others about how God is working in your life. Nice! The devotionals are grouped in such a way to make it easy to find what you need for the day. Some examples of the groupings are:Latte – Comfort in TrialsCoffee – Motivation for the JourneyFrappe – Encouragement to Be YourselfDecaf – Finding RestAs a bonus for those of you who actually drink coffee, there are a number of recipes for making your own.Just remember, ladies, that a single Bible verse each day is not enough to feed your spirit and keep you strong. Use this book, get encouragement from it, but please do not let it replace daily reading of Scripture on your own!I was given a free copy of this item. This gift did not influence my opinion or review.
