Helpful guide
Used this to guide my bit to drill out a bolt in the valve cover of my car. Without this I would've made a mess for sure. I am confident that the HSS drill bit wouldn't affect the hardened steel this is made out of. Great quality.

An Excellent Drill Guide
I don't currently own a drill-press so I use this guide for the times when hole needs to be perfectly perpendicular to the surface. I've used this drill guide a number of time and it has delivered each time. I use the metric guide for non-metric drill bits since there are enough graduations in size to successfully use the guide. I've even given it as a gift. Highly recommended.

Best when clamped
Works as expected. Nice solid chunk of metal. It works best if you can clamp it down once you’ve set your target so that it doesn’t move. I’ve used it to drill a blind hole for a screw insert. I’ve used it to drill holes for dowel pins.

Good, solid build
Well made and solid. Easy to use.I would have given a 5 star but for that I would have liked some form of non-slip on the base.Very happy with this purchase.

It works well
Priced right, and did what I needed it to do. I was drilling holes that needed to be fairly square with the surface. I also did not have an area to clamp this tool down so I was holding it down with my hand. It worked and worked well.

Why did I wait so long
Since I started a large project working with aluminum and needing many holes drilled and tapped accurately, I decided to buy this tool and the associated tap tool. For holes that cannot be drilled on the drill press, these have been invaluable. They are hard enough that the holes do not elongate if the drill hits the edge. They are also very clearly marked. The holes are perpendicular, and threads come out square, so screws start easily.
