Instead of using wire guardians for jewelry making..I use French wire. It gives the piece a professional look.

Had never used before. Is very delicate. Restrung pearls and gave a very professional look.

Handle this beautiful wire with care as it it is very delicate. I used it as protective loops for the clasps when reknotting pearls and it looks fantastic.

This French wire is getting hard to find since they made the thimble ends. I am partial to the look French wire gives to my higher end bracelets ends.

Oddly enough, the silver French wire came in a little snap case, which helps immensely to keep it contained. The gold French wire doesn’t have a case. I cut a corner of the package to let out a little at a time, but would have liked the case, as I only use a little at a time.

I wish I could get this product in the different sizes, and it be more readily available, it is getting harder & harder to source this product. It was possible a few years ago to get 925 sterling silver 'French Wire' in a selection of 3 sizes, this is so essential when stranding beads/pearls traditionally which demand using thicker or thinner thread. It seems silly to use 'Plated French Wire' when using a beautiful sterling silver clasp.Perhaps things will get better and be back to 'how it use to be ' in the future. Cost was a little high, but I suppose that is because of the price of silver, and the fact it is coming from America
