Robinair's No. 18548 Four-In-One Tube Bender effortlessly bends four different sizes (3/16 inch, 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch, and 3/8 inch) of soft or annealed tubing without crimping, flattening, or scratching. Calibration allows duplication of any angle. Handles are a full 8-1/2 inches long so extensions to provide additional leverage are not needed. Rugged glass/plastic construction combines strength with lightweight durability. Robinair, a Bosch Automotive Service Solutions brand, is a global leader in service tools and equipment based in Owatonna, Minnesota. Robinair is recognized throughout the world as the quality and performance leader in AC/R evacuation tools and this position has led to its success with the full range of products that serve the heating/ventilating/air conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC-R) and mobile markets.

Disappointed
I needed a tool to bend 3/8 copper tubing. I bought the Robinair based on the good reviews. The one I received had obviously been returned by someone else as the packaging was open. I was short on time so I went ahead with it anyway. The reason for the return was readily apparent. The plastic parts were not properly aligned so that I could not slide the tubing into the slot. I worked on this with a rat tail file and got the slot working. Then I found that I could not slide the 3/8 in from the side (to make a bend in the middle of a line). I had to work on the plastic sections that were in the way with a flat file. Eventually, I was able to get the tool functioning properly and it then made perfect bends. Based on the reviews I would assume that I just got a bad one and that most are better and do not require modifications. To avoid these problems I would try a different brand.

There's a similar model out there stamped with a lot of different brand names which unfathomably doesn't have a channel for 3/16th tubing. This one does, and it works well. Don't worry about the plastic, it's tough.A tip for use: Take an 8 inch piece of tube, mark it near the middle, set the mark to the zero, and bend a 90. This is your master bend. Use this to quickly determine where to place the start of bends in the line you're working.

Hesitant at first, but not anymore. Definitely a good buy.
I was a little hesitant to purchase this for bending custom brake lines for my project car. The description said plastic and I was weary that it would be cheap ABS plastic or some other low density material.I was definitely pleased to discover upon arrival that this is some heavy duty stuff! It's the same plastic used to make those protective Pelican cases.I used it for the 3/16" radius and tested it as soon as it showed up. It makes smooth bends with absolutely no kinking whatsoever. With the long handles, it allows you to really get some torque on it so it takes very little effort to bend the tubing (at least the 3/16").I definitely recommend to get this one if you're on the fence.

I've never been able to make such a tight bend in 3/16" steel tubing before.
I've never been able to make such a tight bend in 3/16" steel tubing before. No kinking. I was concerned about the plastic material, but after using the tool I am convinced that material strength will not be an issue. It was a little weird to figure out how to use, but once I got that figured out...it bent so perfectly. If you do any kind of work with bendable tubing, you should just get this tool.

Makes you look like a hero.
Sweet mother of Gilgamesh, I had no idea you could make bends this clean at home. This thing rocks - 180* bends in steel, clean as a whistle and easy as pie.

It handles it though and makes truly nice bends on the smaller lines
Bent up various size brake, fuel, fuel return lines. The biggest was 7/16" and if you are just getting into this, this size is a tough bend due to the size of the tubing. It handles it though and makes truly nice bends on the smaller lines. I've used it for some time now and it is only now starting to show some wear but still works perfectly.

Bends 4 different sizes of tubes! It is easy to use and works perfectly!
The bender works perfectly and is one of the rare benders that bends 4 different sizes of tubing. I used it on an air compressor copper tube and the tool works like a champ! It bends up to 180 degrees and doesn't crimp the tube. It will be a tool that will last forever with me and is at a really great price.

One of my favorite tool purchases
Cool Tool. Easy instructions. As a first time brake line bender, it took me about 5 min tops to bend a complex rear brake line. Dont have to worry about this tool rusting or breaking. Awesome design. One of my favorite tool purchases.

It's a bit clunky and hard to fit into tight areas but it gets the job done for a weekend warrior like myself.

Great bender, don't let the fact it's plastic fool you. It's a very strong and rigid plastic and is more than capable of bending all the sizes it's meant for.
