Works
Works well enough for a small grow. May need to be calibrated often and battery dosent last too long.

Great!
This fine thing is cheap and very accurate. It lasted me 3 months before the battery died and i just replaced it. Got it in a pinch and used till dead. Will buy again. Gonna get a back up.

I cannot verify if it is accurate.
It glitches sometimes. I put it in tap water after calibrating it with the powders and at first, it was 7.9. Well within expectations. But then with the same tap water, it would jump around to 6.9, 6.6, 7.2.... I'm fairly confident that my tap water (Tap water; filtered ground water from the Mad River in California, Eureka) doesn't fluctuate that much.I used it to quantify if my fermented hot sauces were within pH guidelines for longer storage times. Acidified foods have certain guidelines. And I get some mixed results with that. A full +/-2.0 pH readings. And I can understand some fluctuation with foods, but not that drastic. The same hot sauce batches would be 2-4 pH. I doubt my sauce was a 2 PH, and if it's a 4 I have to add lemon juice until it's below 3.4 PH. I use a food mill and get the sauce very well mixed and blended.I've painstakingly kept the reader clean, and dry when not in use.I cannot justify the continued use of this reader. Either my samples are extremely volatile (I know they are not) or the reader is glitchy. It does work, it does a fine job of getting a rough idea of the pH. But it's really inconsitent with it's readings.

Not calibrated
Had one of these that died after about 6 months but randomly died. Ordered a replacement and tested it in a buffered solution and and it was a full 2 PH off from the correct reading! Read 4.5 on a 6.8 solution which makes this worse than useless, it’s dangerous. It takes 3 solutions to calibrate it but it only comes with 2 sachets so before you can calibrate you need to spend another $35 on solutions and deionized water. Cheaper to just buy a meter that comes calibrated from the factory

Simple, accurate pH meter
I'd say 4 1/2 stars, rounded up to five. After I'd had it for a bit, I decided to check calibration with a 6.86 pH packet enclosed with the unit. I hit the calibration button.Subsequently, I purchased two bottles of pH calibrated solution, at 4.00 and 7.00. The readings I got from the meter were off, at 4.3 and 6.7, respectively.I decided that I might have messed things up on the cal by not using distilled water, assuming that the buffer packet would take care of things. So, I recalibrated as follows:- 6.86 pH powder packet in distilled water- 4.00 pH solution (the meter is smart enough to figure out which target to calibrate to). After I did that, readings on the 4.00 and 7.00 solution were within 0.05, although getting the last bit of accuracy takes several seconds. So, I'm happy with the meter, although I wonder why I was getting initially compressed range before doing a more careful 2 point calibration spanning the range I was interested in. (I haven't done a high pH calibration, because I target my solution in the 6 to 6.5 range).

thank you
just what I needed for my small business

All you need..
In a world where you can spend up to a hundred dollars for the same effect. (finding out the pH of a liquid solution)Look no further! This pH meter is inexpensive, yet very effective. It comes right out of the box ready to roll. (fully calibrated) I keep the pH "bulb" between uses in a storage solution (which I bought separately). It only takes a small amount in the cap that comes on the meter.I bought this meter the first time to check out how a 12 dollar meter would work, hold up, stand up to regular use, etc. Well... the only reason I'm back to buy another one.. they're NOT water proof!! Haha, I learned that one the hard way. I was never happier to have only spent 12 dollars then when I dropped it into the bucket and it wouldn't turn on again.Oh well, at this price it's not the end of the world. Buy this meter. You won't be disappointed!

Using for acidic tinctures - did the job!
I used this to test the pH of a tincture I started making as it needs to be right around 4.0. I originally bought pH strips but the murkiness of the solution had me doubting the accuracy. Fired this up and gently swirled it around for 30 sec and got right around 3.97 to 4.0, which matched my pH strip with a 4. I'm happy with this purchase and the peace of mind from knowing my tincture is at the right acidity.I work in marketing and HATE how all of these cheaper pH testers clearly have 5 star reviews from other products due to the old bait-and-switch. This had me skeptical to purchase ANY of them, so I appreciate those who took the time to make video reviews of them using the product. Rest assured this is in fact a pH meter and it worked for me.
