To hell and back
Anyone ever tell you to go to hades? Well, it's not a place you want to go unless you are Nate Temple. Nate takes the plunge into the layers of he'll with a purpose in mind, but not before he leaves his friends with a war brewing. Plus there's Carl's search for the secret of the D. Lots of humor. Fast paced action. And nobody does snark like Nate. Best Temple novel yet!

The Road to Hell is Never Easy
In Shayne Silvers’ 9th book of the Nate Temple Series, Nine Souls, we follow Nate down the rabbit hole and find ourselves in Hell, along with his 6 ft. albino lizard friend named Carl and his first pet kitty, Talon. This unlikely trio make the best of a bad situation; causing us to laugh, cry and feel Nate’s anguish in our gut. That is what Shayne does. He expands our imagination to experience the lives of the characters as we walk alongside them. That is only skimming where this book takes you.Even before the trip to Hell, we might think Nate is already there. His friends turn their back on him, struggling with feelings for Callie, dealing with his secret mission investigating the Knights of the Round Table and trying not to kill Alucard because of the mystery of the D. Geez, the guy can’t get a break. Maybe, Hell is the place for answers. But, once again, Shayne Silvers does more than write a great tale; he gives us emotional depth. Just like Nate, we come to realize that friendship, love and compassion can be found in the most unlikely places. And, despite everything, Nate finds what is important in life. Even life found in the tree that Carl, through determination, created from a stick. Ah, the mystery of the D.I don’t know how he does it but Shayne Silvers continues to get better and he is already brilliant. Come along on the ride and you will never regret inviting Nate into your lives.

The snarkiest one yet!?!?!?
Shayne Silvers shows once again why he is my favorite author. He takes any preconceived notions that you have and turns them upside down. Shayne Silvers will make you laugh out loud, scream at the top of your lungs, and can also bring a tear to your eye (sometimes in one paragraph). This book will have you trying to introduce more and more people to the Nate Temple series just so you can yell one liners from the book at each other and laugh hysterically at them. While Talon and %*^*% Carl get to go on the journey with Nate in this installment, there is plenty of time for all your favorite characters to show their general awesomeness before the story is over.

Hell and baby Beasts
Once again Mr. Silvers has outdone himself. He has sent Nate to Hell, and there's now a baby Beast. Everyone is fighting their own battles, and there's lots of trouble brewing. The sarcasm was just right and I can't wait to see what happens next.

If you enjoy dragons. Fae
Shayne Silvers always delivers. In the newest saga of Nate Temple, Nate needs to have a meeting in Hell in order to reveal some long held secrets. The St Louis magical underground is in an uproar. Mayhem commence! If you enjoy dragons. Fae, weres, vampires and other assorted creatures you will enjoy this book. Add to it Shaynes rapier wit and snarky dialogue and you will not put it down!

Nate Temple goes to Hell
Nate Temple goes to Hell. It’s not because everybody’s been telling him to. It’s not even (just) because everything is falling apart in his regular world (although it is, what with his allies all suddenly facing challenges from outside the city and all). No, his purpose is to find answers from his parents.Nate has his friend Death escort him and two of his other friends, Talon the Devourer and Carl, the Elder, to Hell, where Anubis assigns Virgil (except it turns out to really be Dante) to guide them to where they need to go. Curiously, the version of Hell that Nate journeys through is more of a composite of the entire Afterlife of all the religions of the world combined – including Heaven, the Elysian Fields, Purgatory, Nirvana, and every version of Hell that anybody ever made up.Anyway, Nate gets to talk to his parents for what he feels will be the last time – and because someone is listening, they still can’t actually tell him very much, even though they are now willing. And in return for this, he must ‘pay the piper.’Anubis doesn’t find what he was hoping for among the weapons and supplies Nate brought for the trip, so naturally, he asks for a life as a payment. Although both Carl and Talon volunteer to be the sacrifice, it is Nate who takes on the job of replacing Dante as Anubis’ guide to Hell. Then he is placed in a cell with his old enemy, Alaric Slate, the dragon until somebody needs to be guided through Hell again. The plan seems to be that they will battle to the death over and over (since people in Hell are already dead and promptly are rejuvenated once they die so they can do it all over again) for all eternity. But Nate has some weapons Anubis didn’t find out about, and he manages to finish off Alaric. This leaves Nate alone in his cell. Being alone and without his magic appears to be a worse punishment for Nate than any battling. But he is rescued. And he finds hugs the best gift among all the things he learns in Hell. The humor and the magic are still there. It’s another wild ride. And there is obviously still plenty more to come.

Nate is going to Hell in a hand basket.
The hand basket was to small so Death is transporting him and two of his most lethal friends there personally. While his other friends in St. Louis turn their backs on Nate and break ties with each other things start to heat up in Hell. Will Nate bring Hell to its knees in his quest for answers to his past. Or will Hell's ruler destroy Nates soul? Will The Temple Team survive without Nate to hold them together and provide them with snarky comebacks. All the answers are waiting inside..... Shayne Silver's action packed, tear jeaking, hilarious, #1 best-selling book. NINE SOULS Must read Book of the year.

Temple goes to Hell
The big question here is where to start! Most of Nate Temple's enemies (and Shayne Silvers rivals) have probably told him to go to hell a few times before and this time the comment has been taken seriously.Another fabulous ride, bringing lots together from previous books, but then starting different trains of thoughts and setting the scene for future books - all can be read as stand alones, but the beauty of these books is to keep reading them in sequence over and over each time another is released to see how far back seeds were sown, or more likely cringe at the signposts and hints you've missed.Hardest review to write as you are sucked in from the start and you have to read it all in one go - the pace is fantastic, the humour is both grown up in some stages but with an adolescent twist that, if you are honest, puts the punchlines in you've always wanted in books. The difficulty is to describe how good the book is without being cheesy or sound like a deranged stalker - put simply its great and well worth buying - if its the first time you've seen this author - read the rest first

mayhem and snark - terrific fights and lots of intruige with plenty of laughs ...
And Mr Silver hits another one straight out of the park! Someone is sowing seeds of discontent in the St Louie supe communities,The vampires are holding secret meetings,Gunner is challenged by an out of towner, the dragons are searching for a thief, and no one wants Nate's help. The expected mix of mystery, mayhem and snark - terrific fights and lots of intruige with plenty of laughs along the way.As usual, a brilliantly written story which draws you in, keeping you turning pages long past time to sleep.

Another Good Read
There are a number of story lines in this volume and it is perhaps less clear what connects them. The descriptions of Hell are great. And a new, powerful, character is introduced near the end. No doubt to appear in earnest in subsequent volumes. This volume is a little slower paced than the previous volumes but it is still a good read.

Hell of a journey
Nate has finally had enough! He decides that to get the answers he feels he deserves he needs to go directly to the source, his parents, who are in Hell. He ventures into Hell with 2 companions, and on the way he sees a few familiar faces, as well as a few new ones. Will he make it back out or will he be stuck in Limbo
