Black Diamond Half Dome Helmet

I purchased this helmet for outdoor climbing. My favorite parts about this helmet when originally purchasing were:- The cheap price point compared to other helmets of the same quality- The stylish design when compared to other helmets in the same price range- The very light weight profile- The ability to hold your helmet light up- The ability to save my head from disasterAfter having purchased and used the helmet a few times, I would say that one of my favorite things about it is definitely the light profile. I have found that I forget that I'm even wearing the helmet sometimes! It is very comfortable and the ability for it to fit most sizes of heads is also pretty wonderful.Be cautious when looking into sizing. My girlfriend was purchasing the purple version of this helmet and believed she would be a small. When actually trying on the small at a local REI, we were really glad we checked it out first. The small is definitely for the head of a child! Medium is likely applicable for most people who don't have a very small or very large head!I honestly have no cons that I can come up with for this helmet as of yet. For the quality and price, and a name brand like Black Diamond, you really can't go wrong with this! Get out there and climb some rocks!

Bought this helmet for a multi-purpose outdoor sports activity. Plan to use this helmet for skydiving, hiking, climbing, caving, MTB riding, etc.Took it to caving last weekend.I was inside cave almost 5 hours with this helmet on. I did sweat little bit due to not having enough air circulation in the head. This is another quality BD Product. Its light and easily adjustable. I usually wear about a 7 1/8 to 7 1/4 hat and I bought the S/M. It covers everything that needs to be and doesn't look weird like some climbing helmets do. I have worn for hours in the hot sun and hardly realize I'm wearing it. I really like the easy knob adjustment in the back. I would highly recommend and I would buy again.

Good helmet that fits really nice and it’s comfortable. The adjustable headlock is key. This is a really light helmet too. Not a ton of venting but I use it in winter for ice climbing so no big deal. It’s the reason I bought this instead of the newer version, more warmth. I only wish there was a MIPS system option like with bike helmets.

This helmet is light, sturdy and very portable. Clips onto my Osprey pack's helmet loop easily. The crimping knob on the back is the same you'd expect for any construction/head protection/climbing helmet, and holds well. Easy release for when you remove it. I have a 'large' head, and this fit me perfectly fine. Straps are easy to adjust and are soft not to bite into your neck. Color is a pleasing matte, and the orange bits are firmer texture-y rubber.My intention is to use this helmet whenever I go cave exploring or do minor climbs, which should begin once the weather clears up and spring arrives. I chose this helmet in lieu of Petzl's helmets because the price was much better, and Petzl has a glossy finish to it that I'd find annoying when light reflects off of it- not to mention it looks suspiciously like a biking helmet.Safety first!

Been getting into climbing with my girlfriend who is a long time climber. I was amazed when she told me that she had never worn a helmet before! Got this one, and it fits great. Its adjustable, light weight, and a nice color. I have a different (more expensive) helmet, and while mine covers a tad bit more of the back of my head, this one has a way harder shell. Im confident in its protective capacity and expect it to hold up to at least a few falls/rocks before it needs replacing.

It arrived exactly when they said it would. Once I got it out of the box I adjusted it and it fit perfectly. I am an avid outdoorsman and I do a ton of rock and glacier climbing so the need for a good quality helmet is very important. I researched a lot of helmets and chose the Black Diamond based on reviews and quality of their products. A majority of my climbing equipment is Black Diamond and I am very happy with it all.

From the time of writing, I haven't died from falling, yet.This helmet is fairly inexpensive, stylish, and comfy. It's not SUPER comfy, but I've worn it on my head for 6 hours while climbing and wasn't bothered. The adjustment wheel in the back is really nice. If something happens to this helmet, I'll probably just buy this same one again.

To be fair it does the job but I've had better and more comfortable helmets for that price it looks great but doesn't feel it

Purchased with Rock Empire starter kit, great quality helmet and fits him a treat. the adjustable head band ensures good fit and fit snugly where it should do. These are not a life time purchase but at this price can afford to be exchanged if damaged at any stage.
