Good fun but heavier than anticipated
This product had mixed reviews and I was in two minds whether to buy. Some reviewers found the screws/bolts did not align with the holes. My version was OK in this respect suggesting either luck or maybe better quality control following feedback (I'm guessing the former). I was impressed at the quality of construction (given the relatively low price at £80). The packaging was secure although the brittle polystyrene made a mess.I decided in the Summer I'd try and lose a bit of weight and get fit. I didn't want to pound my knees jogging so started walking with a 'Fitbit' to keep me motivated. I found this to be effective and steadily lost weight and reduced my waistline. However my enthusiasm has lessened with the dark damp evenings, hence this purchase. Other reviewers have commented that you need to hold the handle while running. It wasn't clear if this would be true if using it while walking. I found that once I got started (and after a bit of practise) I was able to walk without holding on; the magnetic adjustment settings helped get the tension right for my speed (and I assume my weight). Some comments suggested the resistance knob was fairly useless. I can confirm it does something as it requires a particular setting to allow me to walk without holding on.While it simulates walking, the slope of the product more accurately simulates walking up hill! I have a Magellan heart rate monitor (reputedly accurate) and it showed an average heart rate of 116 / min using the treadmill (casual walking on the flat records 95 / min). In five minutes walking on the flat my Magellan estimated 27 calories burnt, while on the treadmill 38 so the slope of the treadmill burns 40% more calories than normal walking while still being kind to my knees (it's much harder than walking though). The treadmill's calorie counter recorded only 25 calories in a five minute test so is significantly under-recording compared to my more accurate Magellan - in fact it needs multiplying by 1.5 to give an accurate reading. Now it's calibrated it doesn't really matter as I can convert if I'm interested.I've purchased other bits of kit during other keep fit fads however I either lost interest or they were too big for the house. This product folds up neatly however it's MUCH heavier than I imagined and I'm not going to be able to regularly get it up and down the stairs to keep it under the bed as intended. Time will tell if the weight becomes a problem and it gets sent to the garage to join my other items ...

Confidence
let me start by saying I have never owned or used a treadmill before I took delivery of this one. It arrived within the stated delivery date, in one big box. to be honest it took longer to get out of the box than it did to assemble.. So super easy to assemble and away I went .. the fixed slope on the treadmill is very good for me as I have a lot of metalwork in my ankle and walking on the flat is quite painful, the slope is brilliant. I found that since only using it for a few hours on the mid way setting my ankle already feels better. I found the belt easy to start walking on and will also stop easy. I can start walking at my own pace is why I picked a manual machine and I am not disappointed .. Its a good sturdy machine and for a complete novice to treadmills who cannot run (due to ankle problem) walking holding onto the hand rail is giving me the confidence in walking I am needing.Editing to update this Review:I have had a little time to use this treadmill and would like to add how easy it is to use, my walking has become so much stronger. Also the muscles in my legs are looking stronger than before I started using it. I was just doing 60 sec of moderate paced walking at a time . now am walking on the treadmill for 30 mins without even getting out of breath. Would do longer but I only have a half hour time window to walk in!

Does what it says
I disliked trying to fit the console onto the handlebars. It was a tight fit and I have weak hands. Without help I couldn't have done it. I also dislike the lack of text information i.e., how to use, when to oil the belt etc. Also a way to have it on a flat incline would be helpful. Now to the good stuff. It's easy to use. There are two of us using it and both of us feel it is helping our physical problems. When we were having problems setting it up we rang the help phone number and the engineer was super helpful. I'm glad we bought it and would buy it again.

not too shabby
first of all it arrived sooner than predicted which was a nice surprise,,,specially if ur impatient. i was a bit worried it was gonna be too narrow as for im a big lass with not the most elegant walk but actually is a good size, only thing thats a bit annoying is wen u take too big a step u keep scuffing the kinda front bit and plus the handle bar is a bit low for my liking so things get a bit uncomfortable after 15 mins, im about 5ft 10/11 so im not exactly huge so was a bit disappointed in this.overall though i think this is a fun wee treadmill which for the money u pay its pretty good, would definitely recommend it to someone looking to up their exercise a bit.

After assembly everything fine and up to expectations
Delivered before expected. Initially phoned Sports HQ as manual seemed incomplete and small parts missing, but reassured by Mr.Mobberley nothing else necessary. After assembly everything fine and up to expectations. Very soon belt was to one side and contacted Sports HQ again for instructions and received prompt email reply. However this was not too helpful without diagram showing position of tensioning boolts etc. and referred to belt speed which appeared to relate to motorised version . Asked by email whether the instructions were for wrong model but was assured they were correct. Waiting now for a visit from younger son in law to help. Comments by Ray not Mrs.Lilian Kilsby.
