High Quality, Reasonable Price
Stylish, sturdy, and reasonably priced, Rockville speaker stands give you everything that you could want. Assembly took just a few minutes and was completed using only a Phillips screwdriver. I spent $5 extra to buy a 50-pound bag of sand and used about half of it to fill the interior of the columns. The filled stands were still easy enough to carry but were much better anchored to the floor. You get both a set of 4 rubber feet (for use on wood floors) and a set of 4 spikes (for use on carpeting.) With either of these, leveling the stands is quick and easy, and, once leveled, they are very firmly planted to the ground despite their remarkably small footprint. To my eye, the stands are very attractive and seem to be quite well made. The 28-inch height was perfect for me, putting the tweeters of my bookshelf speakers right at ear level when I'm seated on a sofa. I would expect that most people will use the larger top plates (which are big enough to accommodate even the largest bookshelf speakers), but including the smaller plates for customers with smaller speakers is a nice touch. The "Rockville" nameplates are only present on one side of the columns and can therefore be concealed by simply turning that side towards the back. Cable management is theoretically accomplished by guides that stick onto the columns and small nylon ties. I have no first-hand knowledge of this because these parts were not included with my stands. However, you can customize cable concealment by getting some small cleats at a hardware store and screwing them onto the backs of the columns. You can find speaker stands that cost less and you can find stands that cost hundreds of dollars. For most of us, the Rockvilles represent a best value. I believe that you would have to spend quite a lot more to get a stand that is noticeably superior.

Finally a sturdy, reasonably priced, good-looking speaker stand
I'm delighted with these. They are very stable. The adjustable feet are a great touch. After setting these up, it was with great joy that I just escorted the garbage Sonus speaker stands these are replacing to the trash can after one too many speaker crashes to the floor and many more wobbly close calls. That is not going to happen with these much-better designed Rockville speaker stands.First when shopping for speaker stands, be sure to read the specs carefully and match the rated maximum weight of the stand to your speakers. Make sure your speakers will fit on the stand platform. And make sure the height of the stands will position the speakers where you want, because other models come higher/lower in height and weight capacity or platform size than these stands. For me these were a perfect fit; they would work with most small and large "bookshelf" speakers and look great with black wood finish speakers... but check your speakers and A/V setup against the specs before ordering.ASSEMBLY TIPS: The instruction sheet is not very good, IMO. It could make much clearer that the user will choose one of the two included platform sizes, whichever one best fits the speakers. The other sized pair of platforms are not used and can be tossed if desired. There is a 4-minute Rockville video on YouTube about assembling this model that is worth watching. But there's another important point that should be clearer on both the video and instruction sheet. The base that you attach to the bottom of each stand, and the platform you attach to the top, are rectangular-, not square-shaped. In assembling the stands, you can choose to either have the long side of the rectangles run side-to-side or front-to-back as you face your speakers. I elected to have the longer edge of the bases run side-to-side (different than pictured here) and the longer edge of the speaker platforms go front-to-back (matching my speakers), but you can do whatever looks and feels best to you and fits your gear. The key is to assemble *both* stands the same way, or like me you'll have to redo one when you finish and realize they don't match. Finally be very careful driving the screws in. Put them in slowly, checking, feeling and watching for any bulges that mean you don't have the screw inserted correctly, or a misplaced screw can tear through the stand and leave the stand wobbly.

It's a speaker stand
Look good. Easy to assemble. Has cable managment. Using them to hold a pair of Klipsch's The Fives and they have plenty of room to spare. Have not had any stability issues but you could remove the top plate and fill with a heavier material if that was a concern. Happy with the purchase overall.

Better than Expected
Product is excellent. There's only one reason I didn't give 5 stars that may not matter to some.PROS:Quite well built, sturdy and very well thought out.Very attractive.Enough accessories of all types are included for any environment, even a choice of sizes (2) for the top plates.Installation is beyond simple and fast.Depending on speaker weight, if additional weight is desired, pillars will support adding sand.CONS:Only one, which is why only 4 stars instead of 5. No channel to run speaker wire. This product requires them to be run on the outside of the column. Yes, sticky pads are included along with tie wraps, but this significantly detracts from the appearance. It also provides curious children an opportunity to investigate just what the wires are for....not good.As a suggestion, a separate channel could easily be added (and very inexpensively) either internally or even externally. In my opinion, this would make them the ideal speaker stand.Apart from that, I highly recommend these stands. This is an excellent product and much better than I originally anticipated.

You don't have to spend an arm and a leg for good looking stands
Save your hard earned lettuce for your equipment. These stands are a great value. Great looking, easy to put together, and sturdy. Just get some gravel/sand and put it in the columns when assembling to make them weighed down and super awesome. Love them.
