is this water based foundation?  also do you have issues with machine ever clogging?

Yes. Their brand is water based and goes on smoothly. I since my airbrush system after each use and use alcohol or cleaner every other use. I have not experienced any clogging.

can you use your own foundations with this air brush system

Accepted Answer

Yes, but it has to be Water Based Airbrush makeup, otherwise it'll clog up your air brush. Make sure to clean the airbrush nozzle out after each use and daily to avoid it being clogged. I recommend using Dinair Airbrush makeup, it's a little pricey but works the best for me, and AMAZON has some great deals on the price and quantity of it!

Question 3

My silver knob on top of  the gun doesn't work. Should I send it back? It just flips back and forth and so loose. I didn't see a place to tighten it.

If you take the back section off you will see the inside workings of the gun. There is two more pieces that you unscrew. Once you take off the first smallest but that holds the needle set it down remove it cautiously set aside unscrew the long cylinder piece. Once you do this it will slip out with ease. You should be able to "dump" out a small flicked up piece of metal with a hole  in it. Looks similar to a rounded bent guitar pick. This is what works the trigger. How to mix colors

Add a little of each color you want to mix in the well and back bubble it by holding a finger over the end and pulling gently back on the trigger...never stick anything hard into the well because you could damage your airbrush
