Review: Classic Crock-Pot, and you really can’t go wrong! - You’ll have to pry this crock pot from my cold, dead fingers before I give it up 😂. I use this thing ALL the time, and it has been incredibly reliable and consistent every single time. The 8-quart size is perfect for big batches, meal prepping, and feeding a crowd. It gets an unbelievable amount of use in my kitchen, and I honestly couldn’t love it more. One of those purchases I know I’ll keep using for years!
Review: Awesome crock but short cord - Bought this as a replacement for my old slow cooker as the metal insert it came with was beginning to rust and their website was sold out of replacement parts. I was pleasantly surprised to see this slow cooker came with a ceramic insert and not metal, so I no longer need to worry about rust. The outer metal portion of the slow cooker feels lightweight so I wasn't sure how well it was going to cook but it definitely does the job. Heats up and cooks nicely. Hoping it lasts me several years but I'll update this review if it dies within a short amount of time. Also happy to see it came in turquoise to match some of my other kitchen appliances/utensils. I read the manual and it does say it could cause an oder within the first few uses but mine had no odor upon first use. My only complain is the short cord. I understand it's short so kids can't mess with it but I have no children and it doesn't always reach the outlets I want to connect it to. I have to plug it into a surge protector or extension cable for some events.

Likewise, Newell is diligent in is efforts to ensure that its products are compliant with applicable regulations regarding the presence of lead. Newell Brands tests for lead and other toxic metals on its products to ensure they are safe for consumers. In addition, we periodically use accredited third party lab testing to reveal that our slow cooker stoneware is far below the U.S. FDA and California Regulation Prop 65 requirements for extractable lead and cadmium in ceramic wares, thus supporting our results.

**Q: How many watts is it**
A: I returned this unit. Did not work for me. Lid was not tight, the lid would rock. And we went with a new concept, a Hamilton Beach Slow Cooker that I am able to sear meat, onions, garlic in, you name it! I bought the 7 qt and find the weight of the searing unit much easier to handle than that of the heavy crock that Crock Pot offers. I did not know if I would like the new HB, it has an electric knob, but, I love it. Am able to cook it 10 hours with a 4 hour warm setting the unit reverts to if I am not home. We absolutely love our new Hamilton Beach Searing Slow Cooker. I looked at my HB is 290 watts. I also looked here on Amazon, and dont' see it. I got mine at Costco. It's so good tho, I had to write about it. Good Luck!

**Q: On average, how long does it usually take before it starts simmering?**
A: Depending on the ingredients, it takes about 4 hours to reach the simmer point of 209° to 215° F.

**Q: Does this crockpot contain lead in it's stoneware insert? i read several articles stating that most crockpots contain lead. tia**

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love my crockpot
*by A***R on September 15, 2026*

Great size for family and potluck meals like chili, spaghetti and stew. I love that it has the warm temp, which actually keeps food warm and not over cooking, as well as high and low temps. Sturdy, nice looking silver unit with black crock and glass lid, which is easy to clean! Have actually had several compliments stating "now that is a nice cooker"!
