Above average for HGUC
Really great for a HG kit. It will look good with the other Universal Century kits. It’s taller than the other Gundams, but very similar in stance to the HG Hi-Nu Gundam. The Detail is particularly good for a HG as well, with white and grey armor parts which makes it look like a RG in parts. Despite that, it definitely “feels” like a HG. Not necessarily in a bad way though. Despite the articulation in the torso being much more involved and flexible than typical for HG, it’s still based on Polycaps and simple joints. It’s still very solid right out of box and still so after some poses too. More solid than the HG Sinanju Stein actually. That is another beautiful Narrative HG though that looks good with this one. Anyway, the overall articulation is generally above average, but larger HG kits like these that are still based on Polycaps can get weak over time if you pose them again and again. The only egregious color correction issues are the collar and the back of the shield. It’s not hard to paint these parts gray. If you’re willing to break the paint out for this one, then try the trick that I used to make the transparent red plastic parts shine and really pop: paint these underside of the parts on the runner with a reflective silver paint. Then when you attach it all on, the reflective paint is sandwiched under the red clear plastic and helps catch the light. The effect in the end is great, but it’s also hard to paint the underside of certain parts, so I wasn’t able to get the complete effect. If you look closely at the images of my build, you can tell the difference between the shiny and dull red parts. This also removes the transparency of the Psycho Plate, but as far as I can tell, Psycho Plate was never meant to be depicted as actually transparent. In the MG version of this kit and in the anime, the deactivated Psycho Plate just looks like grey metal. And in the anime, the Psycho Plate glows red when activated, but I don’t think it actually becomes transparent. If that bothers you, you can use my solution to improve the quality of the finish and improve the anime accuracy. I’m sure I’ll try this technique again if I build Unicorn. Wrapping up with the accessories, they’re simple, but there are things that I think make them good. The shield looks great and even better with some decals, and I like the way it’s attached to the arm. Like I mentioned though the only problem is the back need to be painted gray. You also get two beam swords to store on the backpack and hard plastic beam effects to use for posing in slashing poses. The default holding hands come included as well as a trigger finger hand with a slot in the palm for a weapon with a tab in the handle. This particular right trigger finger hand is included to pair with the included beam rifle. What stands out about this for me is that they included an adapter on the back of the waist for storing the beam rifle, and that this trigger finger hand is also compatible with the extra gun that you get included in The HG Zaku II F2. You can see what that looks like in my build photos. It’s possible to switch around weapons between model kits easily for the most part, but at the same time these type of trigger finger hands are generally made to hold one type of weapon. So I find this compatibility to be notable and very interesting. In the end it’s a great kit. You could build it as your first straight-build HG and still have a great result, but I think that if you put effort into painting certain aspects and applying decals then you can have an end result with a shocking presence for HG. The articulation is also above average and it’s pretty big for a Gundam.

The quality is great!
Although it's an HG model and relatively small in size, it's intricately detailed. The assembly process was enjoyable, and I'm very satisfied with the final result.

Great but, but BEWARE!!!
Please please PLEASE! Do becareful with the beam saver brackets or what ever it's called because they are very tight, I recommend filling them that so it wouldn't break apart when you're trying to take them off like I did, and some psyco frame parts are lose so glueing them is recommended, other than that it's great by looks and has great articulation, and it can pull off some pretty nice poses.

Excellent Starting off point
This was the first Gunpla i've assembled, and I've since assembled more since then, but this has still been my favorite to put together. The beam saber parts plug into the front port of the gun just fine, and the figure looks great and hold poses pretty alright. One minor issue I had is that the yellow crown piece doesn't like to stay in on mine, but a little glue fixes that issue well enough.

Still Building
Lots of great detail. My first Gunpla, and might have been the wrong choice. The transparent plastic parts are a lot harder to clip from the sprue which was unexpected. I am still having quite a bit of fun assembling it. This will be a pretty spectacular looking first piece though to the start of a new hobby.

it's candy colored goodness,
great model, very nice kit to put together, not to many wonky things other than so really tiny parts, and a lot of candy red/pink colored plates that make up the psycho-frame.and as a bonus it looks cool as all get out under a blacklight.i would recommend it,and it is a lot cheaper than the a-packs narrative version(and a lot better looking to),thank you for reading this far, hope it helped.
