Architectural Mailboxes 950020P-10 Centennial Post Mount Mailbox, Extra Large, Pewter

This thing is great. It’s also huge, way bigger than I was expecting. It will easily hold most packages of a reasonable size. I read that people needed to use silicone to fill in any gaps, there were issues with the cotter pins at the hinges and that the door wouldn’t stay shut. I sealed up the tiny gap in the back of the mailbox with silicone caulking and put some around the cotter pin at the bottom to help hold it in place. I also added these little magnets to the door to help keep it closed (but it seemed fine on its own) just for added support. They work awesome and we have zero issues with it. Mounted it to a wooden mailbox post cemented into the ground. It’s large enough that you can fit a drill in there to screw it down. Doesn’t come with any hardware for mounting it to anything so make sure you have screws or a mounting plate if you need it for your post. We just mounted it directly onto the wood and it sits fine. Over all great mailbox, good sturdy quality. I recommend it.

Great metal material. Was easy to mount but doesn’t include the hardware. Mailbox has good magnet strength. The paint is still good without any chips or dents two years later. A larger size mailbox and can fit packages in it.

The finish has held up really well. The size is wonderful - I have an online business and often ship packages - surprisingly large packages fit inside. One concern is the front-to-back depth isn't as big as my plain old builder-grade mailbox and it complicated installation as the wooden arm it sits on is longer than this new mailbox. This may not be a concern for you, but worth measuring if you're reusing an existing mailbox post.

It's a beast! Solidly built.

So my mailbox was hit by a small limb and it dented the box and knocked the lid half way off. I thought okay, I can fix this. I'll tap out the dent, straight the warp out and put the pin back in the lid and it will be okay. Nope. As I started tapping the dent out one of the tacks on the bottom, back side of the box broke loose, but I was sure it was still fixable ( it hadn't completely broke loosse from the botton). Anyway, I put the lid up to see if I had straightened enough of the warp out that the lid would close. As I pushed down on the box to get the lid to close over the lip the other tack on the back broke. Long story short, if you buy this mailbox know that it is flimsy. My husband is a welder and I'll have him tack it back together.Sadly I am disappointed in the craftsmanship of this mailbox. I love, love the size and design of it. However, I thought for the price it'd be better made.

Awhile after I replaced our much smaller and beat up mail box with this one I happened to be outside when the mail man came by. He said he loves this mailbox and wished more like it would be on his route. Can't get a much better endorsement than that! I get a lot of packages from Amazon and now many of them will fit in this extra large mail box.It is built well with a nice pewter finish. It was easy to install using the existing hardware even though my other box was much smaller. I like that the door magnetically latches to the box itself and it has a nice large grab handle for opening. At the current price point of $66.30 this mailbox is a excellent value!

Nice large size. Mounted easily on our existing post. Pre-drilled holes were the same as our old mailbox.
