Sonor Drums 2, 4 Electronic Drum Set, Black Galaxy Sparkle, inch (SSE 12 Safari C1 BGS)

i have several drum kits,dw,pearl,higher grade sonors,also.i play professionally three times a week,or more,and was looking for a great sounding,quick set up kit,with eye appeal,also.i did my research,and ended up going with the sonor sse safari c1 bgs $4 piece blue sparkle kit.the 16 inch bass drums is one of the punchiest,low end sounding bass drums i own,right now,we even have to turn it down sometimes,it thumps!the blue sparkle actually changes colors,from grey,to black,to blue,and sometimes a little lavender.the toms sound great right out the box,i would suggest changing the snare head,though,but i tightened up the factory snare head,and it was popping,and crispy.by far the best bop set i've owned,and ever heard.i have not used another one of my kits since i received these a month ago.a lot of fun,best bang for the buck!

Great set and value, but came without floor tom legs.

I ordered these after much research and reviews reading. I was debating between these and the Ludwig ?Love kit. Right out of the box I was impressed with the look and quality of these shells. I found one blemish in the top rim of the small tom, a machining flaw, but it doesn't effect the sound. I played a gig with them just the way they came, tuned the heads and threw a mic on the kick and on the snare, it was an outdoor gig. The kick sounded ok, had some ring, but I also did not have a port hole in the front head. I have an active foot and play a little hard sometimes, but it certainly wasn't a horrible sound, just not the sound I like to get from a kick. The rest of the kit sounded good as well. At home, wood shedding, new heads:I replaced the snare and Tom heads with Remo Coated Ambassadors, tunes them to the pitch of the shell, matched the top and bottom heads, and WOW what a difference! The toms and the snare really came alive! I then replaced the stock kick batter with a Power Stroke 3 (my longtime favorite) and I installed a KICKPORT brand port on the resonant head. MIND BLOWN!! The kick drum became a canon! I could hear the kick better, it has great attack and quick decay, no annoying overtones. 2nd gig:Big stage, big club. Mic on the kick mic on the snare, my vocal mic picks up a lot of the other drums and cymbals. My band mates, patrons of the bar, drummer friend all RAVED about the sound of these Sonor drums...over and over!! I am so pleased with these drums. It has also breathed new life into my enthusiasm to practice at home! That and wood shedding with rudiments applied to the kit, grooves, fills etc... And I also bought the case that fits the kick, and both toms, a large suitcase on wheels for snare and all the hardware and cymbals, and I AM TRAVELING WITH 2 CASES!!! BUY THESE DRUMS and put good heads on and tune them correctly, they do not disappoint!! I gave 4 stars because of the flaw in the Tom rim, and because I haven't had them long enough to see how durable they are, but they appear to be a good kit for the long haul.

I play in all kinds of church events for cristian rock and worship style music,i have had several expensive pro kits and this kit is made with same quality if not better than most, and it sounds amazing,everything is normal size except the kick ,and it sounds like a cannon! ive read a few bad reviews on the snare but mine sounded pretty good out of the box and after a little tunning now its perfact.at this price its a no brainer,its exactly like Sonor's $1200.00 jungle kit and i think this one looks way better ,if you buy one get the black galaxy sparkle it looks like diamonds shimmering under stage lights.Great kit, i cant say enough,get one and you wont be sorry,and you may never go back to a big bulky kit again,i know im not.

This set is perfect for my needs; great sound in small space. It is made extremely well and I must say that I'm impressed with the price. I could see it selling for $100 to $150 more, based on sets of the same size produced by other manufacturers. But the size, price and the Sonor brand brought me to purchase this one. I like the color (Black Galaxy Sparkle) and I like the sound. I'll add that it sounds pretty good without upgrading, but I found myself changing the snare and both tom heads to more dampened heads by Evans. I left the kick drum alone and with a blanket inside, it delivers an excellent punch! Love this set...

This is an excellent kit for those wanting something smaller than the typical drumkit. This kit has excellent tone and the wrap is glued completely to the drum (unlike my Gretch kits which are glued at various points with air pockets in between).I would recommend "not" using the riser. Firstly it wobles, secondly I love the look of this kit right on the ground. Just lower the mallet on the bass drum pedal and you will have no trouble. I was also concerned about the absence of a suspension mount on the tom tom, but I can't hear it is having any affect on the resonance of the tom. I currently use DW's 6000 series hardware and it compliments this black galaxy sparkle kit perfectly. There is nothing this kit can't do!

This Sonor Safari kit blew my mind. I've been playing the drums for over 50 years. I have played many different kits and sizes. When reading the reviews on this kit I was a bit sceptical but decided to give them a try for a practice kit. Well after changing the heads to Evans, these drums sound fat, big and full. I use this out on gigs where space is a issue. People look at them and say Umm then they hear them and say WOW. I endorse this kit 100 %. It also would be great for a beginning drummer.

Lots of research and videos watched. Between this, Questlove and Martini. Went Safari. Couldn't be happier. Shells sound great. Factory heads are a bit crap, but not awful. Kick sounds round and warm. Threw a pillow in and gives a fantastic fphmph. Snare is nice and lively. Excellent kit.
