A Mind for Pool: How To Master The Mental Game
T**H
It's the mental game that wins matches...
Phil Capelle has done a remarkable job in identifying what happens when those pressure situations arise, how to recognize them; and, more specifically, what to do to "rein in" that "flood" of nervous emotions that happens to all players! If you want to learn how to harness the "90% mindset" of the game so you can easily initiate the "10% execution" to achieve success after success, read the book, understand what he teaches, practice it, and discover your true mental strength!

3 Star
Somewhat disappointed. Doesn't emphasize visualization enough. My top five pool books: The Advanced Pro Book (for very skilled players), Play Your Best Pool, Mosconi’s Pocket Billiards, Aiming Pool Shots, and Precision Pool.

not so great
Semi-worthless. Capelle is apparently just trying to write another book to make money by take bits and pieces of his other books and putting them here and adding a lot of verbiage and fluff. You are better off with one of his more focused books or books by other authors.

For imprioving your game to a new level
If you haven't read any instruction books on pool buy this and there are a couple of others that will immediately take your game to a new level only practicing 15 minutes a day. The investment is well worth it and you are getting the information from the best teachers in the world.

The mind for pool
Excellent book for improving players and the mental aspects involved in playing pool

Too Generic
Far too many cartoon images and obscure references, if you read through all the BS there would be 1 or 2 lessons, nothing more.

Great book
It's great someone finally wrote this book! There are no diagrams, no drills, none of the things that are important and that you expect in a book about billiards and pool. Instead, the book really focus on the psychology field of the game. I am not a professional player, I am just some guy who plays good pool from time to time on tournaments, and that gets nervous and insecure when I am about to win. This book explains you why that happens, and once you read it you will feel better about yourself and about your game. It's a must have book if you really want to play in leagues and in tournaments.

BEST BOOK FOR MENTAL GAME OF POOL
I never know that I lack things that cannot be obtain from training and that is the strength of the mind.. This book helps you have that MENTAL STRENGTH when playing and practicing... It does teach what to think when playing.. How to over come irritation from other players.. bullying, sharking ( which is common and popular ) annoyance etc... I still have this for all of this time..
